Grant Hanna is an illustrator and astrologer swept away by the rich imagery in the texts of the astrological and magical tradition. His passion lies in translating the multitude of images in the Picatrix, Yavanajataka. and other ancient works, which can seem trapped behind the museum-glass gap of centuries, into art which invites contemporary engagement and magical immersion.
Grant’s first collaboration with Sphere + Sundry is an image of the star Regulus, drawn from his ongoing oracle deck project, the Liber Celestis. The deck incorporates the stars, signs, planets and elements of traditional astrological and humoral theory.
