    Scorpion had been intentionally omitted as an ingredient in the original Mars in Scorpio formula to reduce potential for malefic fallout, be less toxic, and more user-friendly — good for regular application by a wider variety of people for practical and remedial purpose. Throughout its lunar cycle of gestation, dream and omen pointed to the fact that Scorpion should in fact feature, so a round of divinations were performed to see which form that should take. I had anticipated it would be the powder or incense since those are things that appeal most exclusively to fellow mages in their own spellwork, but the tarot revealed otherwise. The reading indicated the Mars in Scorpio oil was already ideally mixed, as the goal had been to "temper" its malefic nature and the card pulled was literally Temperance upright, but also that adding Scorpion to a sub-batch would produce the kind of result you never turn down — The Emperor upright. Thus, 10 venomous scorpions were ground to a fine powder on Saturn's day and Mars' hour, and a small amount was dispersed throughout each vial of Emperor Edition Mars in Scorpio oil, which also features 24k gold and a different essential oil blend befitting its darker, more lethal nature. Use in extreme cases of conflict and danger, to invoke the spirit and allegiance of Emperor and Scorpion energy.     Medusa Pendant Talismans

    Sphere + Sundry's resident goldsmith Tony Mack offers to the Mother Algol a limited set of custom designed talismans  —

    Modeled in hard carver’s wax and cast on November 12th, 2019 at 5:04 pm EST in Williamsport Pennsylvania; the moon applying to a conjunction within two degrees of the fixed star Algol, rising on the ascendant at 26 Taurus. Casting was followed by Suffumgation of wormwood, harvested on a previous Algol election.

    The head of the Gorgon, sculpted in high relief and cast in electrum [gold and silver alloy] with calcined wormwood. Set into the forehead is a .8-1 carat raw diamond (unique to each piece), mounted on a gold prong setting.

    Each diamond and sterling silver pendant includes a silver chain and arrives in a black leatherette pendant box, marked by a wax seal of Algol for easy identification.

    Gorgon Mirror Talismans

    The design for these Gorgon talismans was inspired by the use of convex mirrors used to not only reflect, but refract negative energies, and provide wider survey in bagua mirrors typically placed above doors in Feng Shui. Etched at the beginning of the Full Moon conjunct Algol 2019 in the hour of Saturn and day of Mars, quickly cleaned, suffumigated, and rubbed with Algol oil during the election. Mount externally, above entryways or in the direction of harm you know is being directed toward you. The back has a sticker which can be peeled off in order to stick it to a surface. Rubbing the image with a small amount of oil conceals the Medusa image, allowing for even more covert operation.     Unmarked standard size glass mason jars were suffumigated and filled with consecrated Algol herbal base, including black hellebore, mummified rattlesnake powder, snake's skin, diamond, and more. The clear paraffin oil has turned red since incubation due to chemical reactions between it and its contents. No dye was added. The main offering image shows it frozen from having been outside during its two month long incubation period, it has since returned to its liquid state. Oil lamps are frequently employed in the Hoodoo tradition and possess the virtue of being infinitely reusable, building an even greater charge with use over time and a personal relationship with their keeper.     A beloved favorite returns. Black clay filled molded into a three dimensional vesica piscis during the Full Moon in Taurus conjunct Algol, 2019. Red clay was then inlaid to create an iris, and a genuine .07 ct silvermist diamond installed as pupil. Engraved with Algol's seal and cured with Helleborus in boiling water in the light of Luna as she conjoined the fixed star. These Algol Eyes feature a hole through the center, meaning they can serve as standalone talismans or as beads. Each Eye includes one of the toothpicks used to create and maintain these holes, which carry quite a charge on their own and can be applied in any manner usually reserved for nails, thorns, or pins.     This is where I really leaned in particularly hard on the Sagittarius aspect of this election. This is an oil of good humor, optimism, and creativity. It will help bring joy where there is sorrow, and will burn through cynicism, pessimism, and despair like a lightning bolt. Jupiter’s Laughter is a catalyst for creativity in all endeavors, especially when you are trying to push past a block caused by melancholy, confidence issues, sorrow, or ennui.     A beloved favorite, given new life just in time for the holidays! Consecrated mulling spices and citrine distilled with a combination of water collected during a thunder storm (8/9/19) and freshly drawn from the underbelly of the earth (well) via two copper alembics, initiated at the start of Jupiter’s hour during the ritual operation and produced until the following hour of Jupiter. This hydrosol was mixed with a small amount of grain alcohol to preserve and left to bask upon the Jupiter altar, stored with the rest of the materia since to imbue its positive characteristics and “program” its charge. Synchronistically, the day the offering photos were staged (+ the day of launching this series), the air was heavy with cloudy white mist (see photo gallery), mirroring the clouds within the freshly distilled liquid and a nod to Jupiter’s rulership over “generous bodily fluids”, including those of... a prolific nature. Shout-out to Zeus’ many offspring. The result is an uplifting, motivating, and utterly delicious spray that can be conveniently applied any time one finds themselves in need of a jolt of good fortune, improved attitude, optimistic stimulation, and good cheer. Note that this is the only offering from the Jupiter in Sagittarius series containing lightning charged components, and is therefore closest to the Lightning Rod series in effect and temperament.     Unmarked standard size glass mason jars were suffumigated and filled with consecrated Jupiter in Sagittarius mulling spice and herbal mix, frankincense resin, 14 small pieces of citrine and one large, and 24k gold leaf. The clear liquid paraffin oil has turned milky since incubation, mirroring the clouds within the freshly distilled Jup-Juice hydrosol and a nod to Jupiter’s rulership over “generous bodily fluids”, including those of... a prolific nature. Shout-out to Zeus’ many offspring. Oil lamps are frequently employed in the Hoodoo tradition and possess the virtue of being infinitely reusable, building an even greater charge with use over time and a personal relationship with their keeper. The exterior is intentionally left unmarked so it can be decorated in accord with the user's desired purpose (optional, of course!).     Glass orbs filled with consecrated mulling spices, herbs, frankincense, and 16 pieces of citrine from the Jupiter in Sagittarius operation on the day and hour of Jupiter (before he left his home sign of Sagittarius). Home grown lamb’s ear, ritually harvested in accord with Jupiter’s rulership. Genuine gold and silver leaf. Suffumigated with frankincense, internally and externally. These ornaments are charged vessels for Jupiterian possibility. They can be left “blank” or filled with sigils, affirmations, and intention for whatever benefic things you wish to make manifest within your own sphere. They can be hung on Christmas trees as a talisman for happy holidays and to promote generosity of spirit, and/ or kept on a suitable altar using its stand, where below it incense could be burned to activate or charge. The stand is very responsive to motion, resulting in gentle swinging and vibration which serves to promote ongoing energetic output.
