I love the lip balms. I find their effects to be instant. BO lip balm has a calming yet still bright and uplifting effect for me. The lip balm puts an easy smile on my face. Love it!
like all other s+s lip balms, this one is extremely smooth and rich, even moreso for this one compared to my other jupiter lippies. definitely the most decadent and sumptuous jupiter lip balm to me personally, even moreso than exalted jupiter (which, to be fair, is also very luxe but the richness of butter ocean is truly unmatched). i once wore this to a girls brunch and had the most enjoyable, unhurried, and pleasant experience, like we had all the time in the world to just enjoy ourselves and bask in each other's presence and eat tasty food. what a treat!!
As with many of the Butter Ocean offerings, this smells creamy, but unlike the salve and body butter, this is sort of a sweet maple cream rather than a funky one! Very softening vibes, nice before bed.
Absolutely adore this offering! Truly one of the best lip balms for mellow, slow + sweet vibes in the catalogue. It's great for before sleep or as a way to wind down after work, but can also just bring some mellow sweetness into the work day as well. It smells INCREDIBLE, like very buttery caramel. I do wish that the labeling was easier to read but that has nothing to do with the product, I just have to squint every time I'm trying to find it because you can barely see the yellow text against the white tube. But seriously, this lip balm is 10/10 and I highly recommend!
This feels very hydrating and somehow leaves me with an impression of wetness or juiciness. I wear it a lot as you can’t go wrong with Butter Ocean, but I sometimes wish I had something more exciting and wear it a bit begrudgingly. I think I might not be appreciating it enough as it goes really well when paired with something else. I find that putting one of my other lip balms (I have Jupiter’s empyreal Vantage and Sovereign’s Decree) on my top lip, and Butter ocean on my bottom lip, works great. The comfort and grounding of Butter Ocean allows me to wear series that are a bit out of my comfort zone and relax into them much more.
My favourite form of Butter Ocean so far is still the powder. I also feel like that works best for me in terms of effectiveness and potency. So if you have limited funds, I personally wouldn’t make this a priority. I like it - but don’t need it the way I need some forms. Some people do find the lip balms highly effective though, so I guess it’s an individual thing.
This form of this series seems to hit a bit stronger for me than others? I held off on this because I didn't think I really needed it, but I'm glad I got it. I have been using it daily since receiving. It smells similar to the salve but a bit sweeter/softer. I find this almost as hydrating/nourishing as the Exalted Luna lip balm. I needed the Butter Ocean vibes and this lip balm is delivering them at the perfect time in an easily accessible way.
Not that I’m eating this, but it’s very pleasant! Like a nice caramel treat.
