I've experimented a lot with mixing materia (mainly salts and powders) into body wash and shampoo, for ongoing deep engagement via cleansing with a series, so when a ritual salt was announced for Exalted Mars I knew that's what I would use it for. I have a pretty difficult Mars placement, and in terms of directly calling on Mars for remediation purposes (as opposed to more indirect routes like Cap II, Antares or Exalted Sol), this materia has so far yielded the best results in that I've learned the most about what my Mars issues really are, at their very core. Especially recommend combining with Asclepius if this is your aim. Mars removes fear by helping you understand how much power you really hold to make the changes you wish to see. This is a VERY quiet Mars but also still warming, so not the best as a nighttime shower routine, but still effective for all the reasons listed above.
This ritual salt brings it right to the depths like the previous reviewer says. Works well in a water ward (if you have a darker bowl, it seems to like that even more than clear glass). I also have really liked sprinkling it through the hair and rinsing the leftover residue from my hands, if needed, in the middle of the day for a quick cleanse. You could definitely use kolonia, but this also did the job well as an alternative. Also, it's packed to the gills, as always, S+S delivers a really honest amount of product.
I'm a huge fan of the ritual salts because 1) they last forever and 2) they have almost limitless applications. These did not disappoint! They have a more muted scent; you can pick up metallic notes and a bit of the pine, but they aren't strongly scented. I've used a tiny amount in shampoo before a really tough day that required a lot of stamina. I've also used them in some water as a spritz before a super tough martial arts practice and had the sensation of dropping into a power source, like a diver plunging into the sea. The packaging is always on point with S+ but these are especially gorgeous with the dark blue lettering really standing out against the off white salts. Highly recommend and can't wait to work with them more!
