Since receiving it, I’ve used this soap every Tuesday. It’s fantastic. For me this is a very cooling Mars, contrasted with Mars + Jupiter in Aries being a warming Mars (Mars is already hot, but these series are distinctly cooler and warmer, respectively). This is a wonderful and definitely beginner friendly way to attune to Mars on his day. I’m prone to headaches, pains, irritability, etc but haven’t experienced any of those with this materia. When I step out of the shower having scrubbed with this soap, I feel fresh, new, and more capable than before.
All I could initially focus on was how good it smells - like the mahogany teakwood from B&BW sans nauseating headache. After the sixth use, feeling like maybe the scent alone was the point, I suddenly felt drawn to read the Mars in Capricorn II/Ferrum Noctis info sheet that came with it, and that prayer by A. Coppock feels very appropriate for this.. potentially turbulent.. week. Sometimes it's one line or phrase that really hooks the product's benefits, and for this spellsoap, it's this wording: "understanding the 'predator mindset' which enables us to avoid becoming 'food'.
The scent and energy of this soap reminds me so much of the Swamp Gator subset from Saturn in Capricorn, as well as Mammoth subset from Saturn in Aquarius. To me it evokes a deep connection with our prehistoric animal ancestors and the ancient earth. It is so grounding and yet energizing and serious at the same time, leaving behind a thick energetic residue, definitely best for daytime use. Really good for when you need to get your head in a defensive, strategic mindset.

My first experience with the soap was taking a shower earlier today. I’m not sure why my experience was different than the calm cool predator description, but all I can say is that I had so much energy afterwards. I have been struggling with worsening fatigue for months, but after the shower I felt more alive and capable of getting things done. I was able to go to the store and pick up ingredients for a recipe, come home and make the recipe…. OK for a normal person that doesn’t sound like much. But for months I have been unable to do anything nearly that complicated or involving that much physical activity. I even had lots of energy left over afterwards to spend some time playing games with my partner and exercise. This would’ve been unthinkable yesterday. I didn’t have any negative effects, and my sense of humor was out in full force, although I will admit to some pretty intense competitiveness during game time. I did layer with Eirene subset lip balm and exalted Luna face oil after the shower, but otherwise I just let Ferrum Noctis shine on its own. In any case, it was exactly what I’ve been needing for months, and I am definitely grateful for the energy that exalted Mars gave me and the ability to get s*** done. I look forward to seeing how my reaction to it changes over time and in different circumstances.
