This oil really inspires and illuminates. I am sensitive to scents, this one is a bit strong, so just a tiny tap on the wrist is enough and still effective.
Just realized that I never reviewed this BPAL, which is surprising since it's the first one I went and bought a second bottle of! Recently I started using the QT tincture, which has helped boost my creativity and communication skills, and today (Mercury day) during Mercury hour I burned some QT incense and went to grab a bit of The Bard Queen (which I thought I needed to get into a writing headspace) but felt strongly compelled to reach for Illuminer instead. I proceeded to *not* get any writing done, but instead reworked a presentation that I hadn't realized was in dire need of rethinking. Then this evening, when I went to check my email inbox for the first time since this morning, I was greeted by an absolute WALL of notifications that I had new followers and comments from different people on different pieces that hadn't been getting much attention lately -- I haven't been able to attribute this influx of attention/appreciation to anything other than the little Mercury ritual from this afternoon (all the notifications flooded in over the hours after that), and when I came on here to remind myself what Illuminer was all about, it makes so much sense! I haven't even read through all of these (fantastically complimentary) comments yet, but wow!! I originally purchased a second bottle of Illuminer for a different reason (after getting amazing results out of energy work sessions with clients), but now I see that doubling down on this one was a very propitious investment!!
Despite the scent of this being VERY strong and floral, it's a little powerhouse. Because the scent isn't exactly something I personally want to be enveloped in, I usually apply to the bottom of my feet, and frequently use it to anoint travel documents to ease the way on the journey (to GREAT effect).
It's a lovely sweet perfume and fans of gourmand roses will definitely love this. My daughter loves this perfume and I would apply it on her for her ballet lessons and performances. She loves to smell the scent as she dances.
Since I began using this as a daily I note that the people in my life that have always been important now shine like stars in the firmament. Our conversations are full with connection and awareness of our commonality our collaboration. Interpersonal spaces that had stickiness have become butter and opportunities to grow in my work and social circle have greatly widened.
This has been my most used BPAL out of several just based on pure wearability. So approachable, so easy and breezy. While wearing it I've had shipments arrive earlier than expected (thank you Mercury), consistently been on the receiving end of compliments (praise Venus), and experienced generally pleasant and smooth social interactions (bless Jupiter). Wish I had a lifetime supply!
It's chatty, plays tricks with time, and helps ideas flow but I cannot for the life of me get anything tangible done while using it unless I have something saturn added to the mix as well. I started carrying a notebook around so I could catch the thoughts.
I really love the scent of this. I would call it "fruity poison ivy", mischevious and very wearable. It is my go to when working on creative things, and really does feel like a blend of Mercury, Venus and Jupiter energies.
I love this perfume! I've worn it for a fun dinner with creative friends, which also led to sharing and appreciating music and art. I've also worn it for giving a presentation that was intended to inspire people, to great results. I do feel like it's helped me find creative community and be more inspired myself.
The scent is different from the other Venus and Jupiter BPALs I have. It really does remind me of the Mercury part of this election. On me it mostly smells like neroli and grapes somehow. Very unique.
I don't think I've ever had such an immediate and strong response from any materia before. It helped me gain the exact momentum in my musical work that I needed. I was feeling a little lost as to my next step in building community musically, and as soon as I purchased this oil, my guitar teacher brought up the exact next step I needed to take (without any prompting on my part) in order to accomplish this. And in the weeks since, it's really flourished and I'm feeling much better. I really do love the scent. I feel inspired every time I wear it.
I agree it has a strong and specific scent, but I do like it, and as a bonus my husband (who is a singer-songwriter) loves it. I have so far mostly used it in my marketing, and I would have to say that's going very well since I received this. Whether it's Illuminer or a combination of materia and spellwork...I have had more bookings, been invited to speak, and had good experiences with clients and events. I am excited to start using it more for creative writing projects.
This scent takes some getting used to, like poppers. It does have an almost medieval flavor profile. I can easily see myself listening to Pérotin or Josquin and reading Chaucer. It's been really helpful in writing poetry to lovers, old and new; and I found myself pronouncing my unpracticed French lyrics at Karaoke. I've definitely been having loftier conversations and aesthetic experiences that skew purple. Gonna give it a 10/10.
I really didn’t enjoy the smell of this. I couldn’t use it.
