They are whipped (like cream) to create a soft, spreadable texture. When Body Butters melt in transit, the air within gets separated from the oil base, making the jar *appear* less full. Rest assured that we never send “half empty” Body Butters. You are getting the *same amount* of product when this happens. None leaked if the exterior of the jar and label are not oily. Your Butter can be restored by putting it into the refrigerator and re-whipping it, or used as-is, whatever you prefer! It retains its magical and herbal potency regardless of air content.
Refunds or replacements are not given for items that melt in transit. Only the Client understands what the weather is like in their area around the time they order, what their personal mail scenario is (put inside a climate controlled building or likely to be left in a hot mailbox?), and what type of shipping they choose. If your order qualifies for free shipping, please add your preference as a note if you have one. This does definitely smell fishy, but I find the smell turns into a softer herbal scent after you've worked it into the skin. I do find it harder to slather than other body butters because of the smell, but once it's on it feels relaxing and like a less intense version of the salve (which kept me up researching things!)
Love the ”after the beach” scent. In combination with the BPALS, this body butter is incredible for enhancing psychic abilities, and it also feels protectice. It took me awhile to ”get” this series, but now the insights have been unlike from any other series. They are not just intuitive hunches, but actual visions, and there is a strange certainty about them. (My Part of Fortune is on this star.) Incredible.
This butter has helped me through so many hard times. It really helps make it okay to be here. I've gotten three of the full jars at least and I will again when it's back!
For the dream adventurers and mystery seekers: if you are at all curious about Fomalhaut series, I recommend the body butter as a light, luscious way to ease and greet the energy, especially before/for bedtime.
I was drawn to try something from Fomalhaut. I do not have the star prominent in my natal chart, but Kaitlin's vivid write-up just pinged all the right notes for me. Full disclosure: I love the smell! I went the BB route, in part, because I missed the sea smells of SoCal after a move, though I can confirm the details re: how the aquatic notes settle down on the skin.
Your own mileage may vary--when I first received the BB, the most immediate and lingering feeling I received at first sniff? Familiarity, not in a seaside sort of way, but in a "I have been here before but I cannot quite reach the details of how and where" sort of way. My first night's sleep with Fomalhaut was particularly memorable in that I had a deeply self-reflexive dream where I was both dreaming (pretty normal) and aware I was dreaming (never happens). This made a lot more sense once I figured out where Fomalhaut lands in my chart. For what it's worth, I ended up leaning into the BB as an addition to more meditative, internal listening practices before I ran out! I am still awaiting the restock to continue my internal sleuthing!
Because I am still working on deeper dream work, I am curious how this would pair with other internal investigative S+S support such as Golden Sol II's Torch of First Light or Asclepius.
of all the salves and BBs offered by S+S, this is the most restful for my system. I rarely remember my dreams, and usually when I do, it’s stressful, but when I use this stuff my dreams are soft and calm and I sleep deeply without being assaulted by my unconscious. wake up feeling refreshed and soft, like I’ve been held in the ocean’s womb overnight <3
i forget, is the form for my ease, a preference of consumption, or does magical function follow? i applied this butter as vehicle but rather than communication i fell without forethought into the fourfold breath. just vessel-tending, depth-testing.
This was near the first and still one of my most favourite S+S offerings. Fomalhaut (+Jupiter) just feels like I have everything I need, supported and suspended in a nourishing ocean. I find myself feeling resourced enough, and gently nudged by this great whale to engage with creative practice. The body butter is the perfect formula for my sensitive skin, and the fragrance is lusciously devine. I don't know what else to say except that it feels like everything.
It smells INCREDIBLE. All the soft comfort of a walk down the beach with seagulls crying out. Smooth and soothing, always super helpful when I'm feeling tense and stressed. Great for journeying and divination.
The physical sensation of floating and having a fish-like body is the strongest after using this butter for me. The first item from S+S that have finished ever. And I am talking about 6 oz size. Very soothing and understanding/accepting energy.
oh, Fomalhaut, what can I say that would accurately convey my deep love for you? I purchased my first Fomy body butter on the secondary market, looking for something to try out that's a bit more "out there" than grounding like other materia. I love it so much, I purchased the large body butter and will continue to do so as long as it's available!
Lots of people say this is great for tuning in and extra-sensory input but I have found with my chart it's simply deeply relaxing and connective. Fomalhaut is in paran with my natal full moon so it feels like coming back to home in the deepest most relaxing way. I use this nearly every night at bedtime. The time I tried it during the day (after a ritual bath), I was overcome by a wave of relaxation that took me to a wild daydream nap of whale-sized proportions.
Don't be put off by the smell warnings. I don't find this fishy at all. More like being at the beach. It's delightfully odd and salty smelling to me, and I adore it.
I want to say thank you so much for this wonderful body butter. After using it for a few weeks now it has produced a real difference in the way I feel in my body. Whether you use this for spirit flight, a way to plant your feet before a big event, our just for a “coming home” embodiment this body butter is great. I would recommend this to anyone that has an evolving relationship with their corporeal self and especially for other Trans/Nonbinary people who want to alleviate some dysphoria scaries in a positive way. Its affects are very gentle, and after application, bring a good sigh as you settle into your skin. In this capacity, the fomalhaut body feels like a nice ease into a comfortable sea foam bath that helps to anchor you and honor your transformative nature. This series, like Luna in Cancer, seems to make some people really trip out and just subtly nudge others. I get pretty subtle effects from it relative to what some other people experience, but I've used it to nourish my tarot practice and have had significant benefits from that incrementally over time. Through regular use (not necessarily use every time I divine), my intuitive relationship with the practice has gotten a lot stronger and more organic, and I feel more assured in those intuitive senses. I keep the body butter in my bedside drawer, and I've started remembering more of my dreams and having more free-associating sorts of dreams since it started living there (even though I've only actually applied it before sleep once). Interestingly it doesn't really seem to affect my meditation practice much, so I'd encourage people to try it out for different things and see what it augments and where it isn't as useful for you specifically.
In the evenings out listening to and dancing to music (fav pastime of mine) after applying this body butter, I have heard a musician include whale sounds in his ambient music set, another musician include visuals of whale sharks, and twice outside the techno party random people brought up whales in conversation. This body butter brings on feelings of intense relaxation, and often a desire to meditate or get lost in something enjoyable, like Tarot. It honestly has a buzz that reminds me of marijuana (another fav pastime). I can also testify that I had some pronounced experiences of prolonged eye contact, which is very enjoyable and a bit unusual for me.
Please heed the warnings that it smells of the sea, because it very much does, in a funk that you will find unforgettable. That said, I didn't have to apply much before getting opportunities to work with my shadow in a way that I really needed to deal with. I got to sit down with myself and really figure out where my feelings were coming from, and if I even wanted that in the first place. So I would say when going exploring, or shadow work, this is pretty great. I'm hoping that with more use I'll be able to figure out my 12H stellium, too.
Whenever I want to delve into my own depths, whether in trance or dream or through movement, with or without herbal allies, I use this body butter. I usually dab some on my temples, third eye, the nape of my neck, hands, and feet, along with other body parts that feel appropriate for the occasion (heart, solar plexus, shoulders, etc). It does sometimes cause a few clogged pores on my neck, but it doesn't bother me much because the benefits far outweigh the small drawback of how I choose to use it.
This body butter primes my energetic and physical body for liminality, quiets my mental distractions, and feels like the energetic equivalent of the calm I receive from listening to underwater sounds, along with a gentle and stabilizing pressure akin to submersion. I do get a lot of oceanic and eye-related imagery when I use this. It's helped me to connect with the deepest parts of myself and generally leads to an inward, middle- or lower-world experience. I haven't yet used it for anything more upper-worldly; however, I'm typically more drawn to the depths, so that might just be me. For me, it's definitely strong enough to induce mental/sensory visions, as long as the set and setting are also conducive.
At first, the scent was definitely off-putting, but it doesn't bother me at all anymore; in fact, I've come to be fond of it. My cat seems to be very drawn to it as well! And I will definitely repurchase this as long as it's still available.
(In general, I prefer the texture and skin-feel of body butters to salves, and I have found them to be plenty potent enough for me.)
I use the Fomalhaut body butter on my upper arms specifically during fiction-writing sessions. This feels like a light energetic hug that lets me safely anchor into deep imaginative exploration. A bit like water wings!
I use Fomy almost exclusively at bedtime and for good reason. Aside from the overall relaxing wave that washing over me, I have such rich, vibrant lucid dreams when I layer bb, salve, and oil. The sea scent doesn't last long, it quickly fades away leaving a pleasant aroma (maybe a little salty but definitely not a sea scent). 10/10 recommend.
This was the first body butter that drew my attention--now one of my go-tos before bed. For anyone curious or cautious about a sea smell, it is there but almost like sea spray. Your own mileage may vary, of course, but the smell of it is such a curious thing to me. It smells familiar in a way that I still have yet to place.
If you are a person who likes to take notes and compare your experiences, I recommend trying this solo (without combining with anything else) and giving it a generous slather on your chest. I'm still trying to make sense of the dreams I had the first night I put this on as they were memorable.

Deep and mysterious. Same amazing quality as the body butter in other series. The deep sea / deep space aspect is palpable, but definitely hard to out into words. Good for vision work, pathworkind, and meditation.
I use this body butter daily when I meditate and also before I go to sleep every night. It does an amazing job deepening my mediation practice and making my dreams more vibrant and my overall rest more relaxed and pleasant. Putting some on right now as I type this, getting ready to go to bed.
This body butter is a new favorite item — I use it before reading Tarot and for dream work. It’s deeply relaxing and provides a subtle intensification of intuition and insight. I can feel myself become more drawn into whatever I am focused on, much like softly sinking to the depths.

I live in a warm city and it arrived melted and it stayed that way and I'm not mad about it. I have put it in the fridge but the texture isn't important to me, really. I know others have whipped it back up, but it seems like to much work for me. Specially because even if its more liquid-y it works the same way and is still very very hydrating.
