Spica Salve

Organic jojoba and consecrated Chitran herbal matter of mandrake, garden sage, armoise, and periwinkle, alongside organic beeswax, essential oils, absolutes, and c02s.

Frankincense, patchouli, arnica, petitegrain, orange blossom, angelica root, lemon balm, mugwort, sage, and boronia.

This Salve is unlike most of the other items in the Spica series, in that it orients toward deep inner exploration, allowing (in early or seldom applications) the body, mind, and spirit to go “fallow” in advance of planting season.

Rather than pushing aside the shadow-self and inner darkness, this connects one to it — to be felt, explored, and processed. Perhaps, to become more verdant and productive when Springtime comes.

This was my initial reaction to it, at least. I found its effects almost a bit “depressing” until the psychological “chaff” had been “composted,” which resulted in more fertile inner-ground.

Subsequent applications before bed led to intense visionary experiences and dreaming that made me question whether or not I had taken anything (I hadn’t!). It might be the best “flying ointment” in Sphere + Sundry’s arsenal, thanks to the high mugwort and mandrake content. But also, I have Libra in the 12th house so; curious if it’ll work as well for others!

To promote visionary and lucid dreaming experiences, you could pair with Mother Mary Jane or another potentiator of choice. Best for nighttime or solitary application, especially before meditation or intentional emotional processing.
