Chicken Soup for the Soul

I got this specifically to use in making chicken stock for the winter time when Sol is hard to access but we most need a kick of light and warmth. I haven't used it for that purpose, yet, but as a steep it is just pure, unadulterated confidence and joy in a cup. Yes, it's a bit bitter, but a squeeze of lemon and a spoonful of honey makes it taste almost like a citrus-y aperitivo. Love everything Regulus, and this is no exception!

Regulus III Steep and Smoke

I received the Regulus Steep and Smoke as part of a promotional offer and am so grateful because it's a series I might not have tried otherwise. When I make tea I usually let it steep for a while and that is definitely not a good idea with this blend. It is incredibly bitter even with a very short steep time. Because the bitter flavor is not something I could get past it has inspired me to use it in other ways. While I have not smoked in years I gave this a try and found it to be quite enjoyable. I brewed my own tincture with it that while still bitter, is more palatable than drinking the tea. I also added it to some dandelion flower infused oil that I use to make my own salve because it seemed like such a good combination. I have found the effects to be subtle but so enjoyable. Gives me such a positive and optimistic outlook. Inspires confidence and makes me feel self assured.

Embodied Sunshine

I have been doing a lot of layering with Regulus materia (spell soap, water, slave, lotion). I used the steep and smoke to create a tincture (when it was out of stock). I have also drank it as a tea on a few occasions but prefer to ingest in a tincture form as the taste is quite bitter.

I have been working with Regulus on the regular for a while now. Regulus is also present in my star parans chart so I do feel especially connected.

I struggle with stage fright when it comes to performance art and ever since building a relationship with Regulus, I've been able to lean in more easily to taking up space and being in the spotlight whether it is singing in front of others or for more mundane daily tasks. I'm at a particular place in my life right now where a lot of goals and callings are requiring me to put myself out there more and take up space and spotlight. As someone who has been conditioned to be quiet and humble, Regulus has been wonderful to work with supporting in grounded confidence and respect.

Best Sun Tea EVER

I love making sun tea in the summer, which is just tea in a glass vessel with cold water that is then set outside in full sunlight to steep for the whole day. It's no surprise that Regulus Steep and Smoke makes *theee* most amazing sun tea ever. It is a bit bitter, but I have been adding the juice of two lemons and a little sugar and mint--that combo served over ice has been life giving. Honestly working with the Materia in this way might make the Steep and Smoke my favorite form from the Regulus line. Try it! You won't be disappointed <3

Solar Medicine

As other reviews have mentioned, the taste of the steep is VERY bitter. (I don’t smoke, so I don’t use it that way.) However, I have a fairly high tolerance for bitter tastes and do like it with honey. I tend to drink it on Sundays (while wearing the body butter) to chill with my husband, whose natal sun is conjunct Regulus, and it creates a lovely, cozy atmosphere untouched by anxiety or the feeling that I should be achieving more. The self-confidence built up by this series appears to be sticking, and I have noticed more work opportunities coming my way as well. I do plan on using it as a steep for floor washes and other cleansing/anointing purposes as well.

Sunshine boost

This steep and smoke is admittedly quite bitter, like the other reviews mentioned, but it is also VERY powerful. I like to brew a mild version of it and drink it with honey, or a regular version which I like to let cool off and then as needed take small shots of it for a quick mood boost when needed. It feels like a nootropic for my brain and increases my motivation and focus levels..I would definitely be careful consuming if on any kind of medication though as these herbs are certainly active and pack quite a punch. My favorite use of this steep though, is making it into a room and cleansing spray by adding spring water, grain alcohol, and some essential oils of my choosing, I then use that to spray/clean my flooors, my mirrors, my hands, the air to freshen it and lighten the mood, my car steering wheel, altar spaces, etc, it literally brings in golden energy and opportunity. I actually have to be careful about using bc sometimes I’ll get too many work offers afterwards, almost as if out of nowhere suddenly everyone wants to work with me and has an offer..so be prepared to be a little more noticed than usual…Bc Regulus might just ask you to step up to the plate…truly incredible for anyone trying to carve out more recognition for themselves in their career…also can be used as an incense offering for Regulus, especially when the moon is conjoined this star! (It’s not *as* nice as the actual incense for burning, but it works nonetheless) I’ve also placed some of the tea on my solar altar as offerings for Sol …it seemed to be appreciated (: I haven’t tried this yet but I have a feeling this steep (after cooling down) would also be INCREDIBLE as a hair and scalp rinse and I want to try that next (:

Be like the lion

I used this steep+smoke in a dry herb vape. I had to push it to a high temperature and usually take two hits. The flavor changed towards the end, but I didn’t dislike the taste too much. Take when you want to act royal or be like a lion leading his pride.

This blend is definitely bitter as a steep, but works well as a smoke. The herbal matter is finer compared to other steep and smokes which helps it burn evenly.
This didn’t really work for me, but I’m also sensitive to serotonin agonists like St Johns Wort (I had the same reaction to the salve).

Brightening and uplifting

This has a little bit of a bitter taste, however it's nice sweetened with honey. I feel it cheers my mood a lot - also it's great as a floor wash to clear negative energy.

Regulus S&S

Love how versatile the S&S’s are in general - I love this as a tea or smoke with MJ - instant sunlight and happiness

Testimonials(5)

  1. R3 S&S is the one S&S that I can’t drink. It’s too bitter a taste for me. That said, its great to create a wash from if you want to bring some sparkly solar-like energy to your home.

  2. I use steep + smokes paired with mother Mary Jane mostly so my review is based on that experience. Regulus III has a bright, spicy flavor that I really enjoy. It’s one of my favorites in terms of texture and consistency- it has a smooth + even burn. I’ve also had some personally powerful experiences with the magic. Finding and truly seeing my personal power and gifts, it’s a very bright and cheerful energy and truly does get rid of sadness like the write up states. 10/10 would recommend!!

  3. This was my first purchase of a steep + smoke, and I’ve should’ve come to them earlier…on occasional Sundays, I steep Regulus tea to add to floor washes; after using, my space feels warmer and brighter. I feel lighter, energized, invigorated, and creative. I think I’ll be leaning even more heavily into this during the Northern hemisphere winter – an essential tool for the gloomier months ahead.

  4. I have resisted the smoke and steeps for awhile, but for some reason this one called to me. Wow – upon first smoke – it was a lovely boost of joy! There is something to bright, expanding, kind, generous, boisterous about the Regulus 3 series that I find hard to explain. It’s been lovely as an offering for Sol, lite. My own sun is in detriment, and this Regulus series has been such a gentle gesture towards experiencing that light.

  5. I like filling a big basin of hot water and steeping a bit of this as an offering, feels like a lovely way to honor connections with ancestors and guardians of the land. The taste varies from day to day, sometimes deeply and invigoratingly bitter, adding a bit of honey rounds it out beautifully and sometimes much lighter depending on amount used in proportion to water and steep time. I love it! Gentle lights in water form. Haven’t smoked it yet, but will as an offering shared with spirit.
