The salts have tiny herbs that feel like more than the usual amount in bath salts. They also smell fishy like the ocean. Not my favorite bath salts.
These bath salts blew me away. I’ve taken lately to putting 3 or 4 tablespoons of a given bath salts in a muslin bag and scrubbing my body with the bag, fully wet, in the shower after an initial regular cleanse. Each series is so distinct. Fomalhaut in this form REALLY delivers on everything Fomy! Immediately after my shower I felt almost woozy, almost like I was “under the influence” (of what? I don’t know, but something). I felt comfortably and safely receptive to the world. I felt held, loved, and respected. I felt worthy of diving the depths of the unknown. The effect does last longer when paired with the salve, which I couldn’t recommend enough.
Given the effects of this materia, it’s not feasible for me to indulge regularly, but I am SO happy I have this for whenever I do need it. Sometimes we build up mental, psychic, and energetic fortresses that occlude the beautiful world around us and those things need to be pushed to the side now & then.
The impact was so real I’m considering asking some non-magickally inclined people in my life to test them out and tell me how they feel afterwards. If I ever do that, I’ll be posting about it in the client community 🙂
This was one that I went into cautiously. I have this fixed star conj. Jupiter in my nativity and I thought it might be a bit redundant or disorienting. However, I found great insight and comfort using these salts even thought it really takes you ~there quickly. The bodily sensation was buoyant as I typically find this fixed star to feel, but with this added feeling of being in one's element or home. I truly felt submerged in every aspect of the word and I feel like it brought me great lucidity in dreams the following nights. Most notably, I still have been dreaming about caves and orcas, which seems delightfully of Fomalhaut's territory.
I'm also a girl that loves swim in general and the feeling of being exhausted from it after a long day in the sun, which is exactly the vein of relaxing I find this to be. I sat quite comfortably in the mouth of the whale with this one and I'd recommend HIGHLY to anyone with configurations to this star 100%.
I wasn’t prepared for how this was going to feel. I have engaged with a lot of S&S and I have the oil of this series but the bath salts were very different, immersive and transporting. I was somewhere else and tapped into a power. I’m very glad I did research on the star and had a ritual planned for after my bath and had somewhere for all that power to go. Not a passive one for me. Rare and powerful highly recommend
It feels like being in a current and gently rolled under the surface of soft, mystical waters. Definitely encourages introspection.
I love using just a pinch (literally 1/16 tsp) of this in a ward to act as an ambient influence and support navigating the dreamscape and other realms. Dab a bit of the dissolved saltwater on your neck to feel Life soften a little in that moment
I love these bath salts. I don't use them all the time, but whenever I do I have the most wonderful awareness of the world around me, all levels. Great for making art, walking around, looking.. Pisces sun lol but I love it. Love the seaweed bath too.
1) Use Sphere and Sundry Bath Salts to create an atmospheric spray. Fill a half of a mug with warm water and add a teaspoon of bath salts to dissolve them. Once dissolved top up with cold water. Transfer the mixture into a small spray bottle and spray the desired space before socialising, meditation or love activities. You can also spray yourself, your clothes or objects. Spray your linens to induce dreams and set the mood.
2) Use the above spray in relevant days and hours to spray your planetary altars.
3) Use bath salts similarly to ritual salts – you can add a teaspoon to your spell mixture.
4) Put a teaspoon in a tiny muslin pouch and put it in your pocket/handbag before events/meetings/going to places where you’ll need extra support.
5) Use bath salts in the shower – dissolve a tablespoon of bath salts in a half a cup of warm water and gently pour it over your head/face/body in the shower to wash your skin with them at the end of your hygiene routine.
PS. Fomalhaut Bath Salts are really potent and give you a feeling of floating in a moonlit pool - made more for magical activities rather than ones requiring a great deal of focus!
This is not the most aesthetically-pleasing materia in the lineup to bathe in, and I would not recommend it for a relaxing spa-day experience.
Interestingly, every time I've bathed in this, something has conspired to ensure the water is lukewarm-to-cool by the time I get into the bath.
It really does feel like taking a dip in some brackish sea water, and smells of it.
A helpful precursor to lucid dreaming or meditation. Definitely causes the the 'sea legs' effect noted elsewhere in the Fomalhaut listings, so maybe don't operate any heavy machinery after use.
Since I had a rare night in the house alone, I had a bath with these salts. I really loved sinking into the sea-scented water. I usually use the little muslin bag to contain all the extra bits of materia, but, on this occasion, I let them float freely in the bath. There are ingredients in the mixture that look like sand and it was so relaxing to watch them swirling in the warm currents of the bath, accompanied my tiny ribbons of seaweed. Profound dreams came later that night, with messages from ancestors... Marine magic...
This was the first S+S offering I tried and it is still my absolute favourite. It is so clarifying, while at the same time nourishing. It feels like a cool clear lake at night with a sky shining with stars, especially when that beauty and connection is what you need to feel both connected and alive again. Fomalhaut is conjunct the degree of the zenith for me, and feels like the missing link, a long lost friend, exactly what is needed.
Taking a bath with these feels like entering a sacred pool. Mystical and soothing.
My favourite way to use this salt is making a small dish with water and let it sit next to me. It helps to process and assimilate new information or news. Helps to take it in a wiser, more understanding way, with gratitude. Also can dip my fingers in salty water and clean/help with processing for body parts that the most affected by news or rejecting the new reality of life.
A previous commenter mentioned feeling like a mermaid in their tub - and yup, me too! I find water one of the easiest ways for me to meditate and with Fomy the results have been wildly successful. When paired with luna in cancer, or exalted Luna it's profound for journeying, and sinking much deeper into the esoteric waters.
I've used Fomalhaut bath salts a few times now, always in ritual. The energy of these salts have a quality of probing curiosity without feeling too serious or heavy. The salts have a sweet seaweed smell to them - they smell *real.* It is easy to feel transported in these baths, but also really supported and held (I imagine this is Jupiter!) - you're not plunging down to depths at warp speed, you're gently and safely exploring. I have used the salts to initiate a deeper Earth-based magical practice and to expand my dream work - I have had incredible results with both of these goals. I really love this series.
This brought me back to the childhood experience of feeling playful, free, and one with the ocean. I felt like a mermaid in my bathtub.
Using these bath salts is like being held in a cosmic ocean womb in the heavens. The way it feels like the sky and sea have lovingly merged and enveloped me is truly divine. It strengthens my connection to the ethereal, and makes otherworldly messages clearer.
Yes, this does smell OF THE SEA! For real. And I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. How magnificent to bring the sea into my lovely bath tub (for which I am so grateful) combined with Star Power. I have been diving into my own 12th House (Sun conjunct Jupiter in Cancer) depths and have found the bpals and Annointing Oil extremely helpful (and informative- almost like if you could have a conversation *with* Pisces) and am quite enjoying the bath salts just for the evocative atmosphere they certainly provide. I really enjoy working with several elections' materia but Fomalhaut is possibly my favorite. Extremely grateful for the insights and reassurance this series is providing.
So as the listings warn-- this is very fishy smelling. In fact, it's a little like having seawater in your tub. However! It's very exfoliating, and excellent as a precursor ritual bath before attempting lucid or prophetic dreaming. The smell can also be easily covered with a bit of nice smelling bath oil.
These work for me exactly as described, and pair beautifully with the Fomalhaut oil to anoint myself after the bath. I have been noticing not only divination feeling quicker and clearer in general lately, but also messages / guidance coming in spontaneously without me even asking. Feeling very grateful for the gifts of Fomalhaut.
You've ever wanted to swim in a magical ocean? Yup, that is what these bath salts are like. In a sense, it reminds me to Immortal Heart bath salts in that it has this immense sense of scale, but its definitely oceanic, and deep. It's gentle, taking you in, and taking you into yourself. Deeply oceanic.
