A while back I had an enemy who was absolutely driven to f*ck up my day any way they could, and dealt with an onslaught of magical attacks from them 24/7. This powder was one of the best tools in my kit at the time for keeping their curses from destroying me entirely back then. It saved my life, quite literally. After a while a change in tactics was required, as it always is with a persistent enemy, but I am grateful to mother algol for her protection from that obsessive witch.

This is a very overdue review for Mother Algol, a being that has brought a lot of calm into my life in the knowledge and faith that she can see what I can't, and who has provided the basis for some of the most fun protection ideas I have ever had. Whatever feat her aid is invoked to help with will undoubtedly magnify in a way I can only describe as prismatic. You are rarely just spreading powder, or just dressing a candle—the focus deepens and darkens and you are made aware (or need to be aware!) that whatever you asked was the nuclear option (so please treat the work with that level of care and gravity).

Our internet still flickers now and then, and I mainly find it reassuring. I have found that she likes dark rum.

I recommend the Mother Algol powder for offerings, although you can, as described, use it in workings and candle dressing. If you feel at all called to this, don't hesitate. The convoluted head trip is part of adjusting to the energy -- she *is* known for losing one's head.
As warned, there is an adjustment period, but once you're past that, you could not ask for a better friend. And once she is, she will pre-emptively protect you, reflecting back harmful intentions, and you may or may not ever know about it.
Respect is the keynote here. It's important to underscore here that you are not working with a spell here; this is a sentient entity who will return respect and friendship in kind. She is not a rottweiler you can sic on people who have offended you. If you task her that way, don't be surprised if you don't like the way she does the job. Or if she turns and bites you.
