The Original Astro-Magical Atelier

We opened our skylights to the public in June of 2018, coining the term “Talismanic Materia” to describe the nature of what was on offer — series of Materia Magica produced on distinct ritual operations, using talismanic-grade elections expertly chosen in collaboration with astrologer Austin Coppock, Picatrix-style procedures, and a mix of classical, modern, and syncretic correspondences.

It has greeted and escalated a rising tide of popular interest in planetary, stellar, and talismanic magic as a particular focus, method, and specialty, by showcasing how powerful, potent, and relevant these ancient technologies are in modern, real-world contexts.

Sphere + Sundry has made astrological magic infinitely more versatile, branching far beyond the standard of jewelry, and extraordinarily accessible, simultaneously raising the bar in terms of quality of ingredients, professional performance, and customer service.

The project has shipped over 16 *tons* of roughly 300,000 units, representing millions of effective, life-changing doses to over 55 countries worldwide (as of July 2023). It has popularized methods innovated by its Mage and founder, Kaitlin Coppock, and become a lighthouse and blueprint for hundreds of practitioners, proprietors, and small businesses inspired by not only its commercial success, but its ability to deliver nearly unheard of results on a reliable basis.

The thoroughly field-tested astro-magical technologies Sphere + Sundry espouses have *incredible potential* to help Humankind, especially as a supplement to the healing arts, somatic and experiential astrological education, and natal chart remediation. As is, it magically links thousands of like-Minded, like-Hearted, and like-Spirited Others, empowering each series’ Egregore, fortifying, and unifying the collective field(s) of those who partake.

Mother of Materia

The field downstream has been immensely influenced by Kaitlin’s original work, evident in terminologies, aesthetics, and a comprehensive approach which did not exist prior to Sphere + Sundry’s inception. She has paved the way for myriad others entering the starry-field of talismanic output as a proof-positive model of excellence and efficacy.

What began as 1 ex-web designer/ hausfrau making magic in her kitchen and shipping from the garage, has grown to provide for many families and individuals, encompassing an entire multi-building campus in Southern Oregon, which will open for events, workshops, and conferences in late 2023-2024. The magic of how that came to be was detailed in Part I of the write-up for Kaitlin’s Opus, the Thema Mundi series.

Two interviews are available for those curious to learn more: Foolish Fish from June 2023, primarily about the talismanic method (great for people just getting started!), and Rune Soup from May 2019, less than a year into the project, about Kaitlin’s background and approaching ethos.

She regards this work is a pleasure and a passion, as well as a duty and a responsibility — to share with the wider World, and to continue supporting those who perpetuate similar values and good-works in its wake.

Founding Praxis

Artisanal + HandcraftedAll our offerings are designed and crafted by the hand of Kaitlin Coppock to painstaking specification. This includes distinctive ingredients, limited timeframes, and the utmost care in every aspect of the process, from planning to creation to packaging.

Talismanic Chart SelectionOur creations are more than casually or superficially related to their namesakes. They are timed to the exacting specifications of a professional talismanic standard, taking into account the quality of the target placement, visibility, speed, retrogradation, interfering and supporting factors, planetary days and hours, and angles of the chart, among a myriad of further considerations. This can leave less than an hour for the creation of a talismanic object. All Sphere + Sundry elections are determined in consultation with astrologer Austin Coppock.

Bottling + MaintenanceWhenever possible, creations are sealed at the time of the election in the same bottle you will receive, and are not opened until you crack the seal. In the case of using a Mother batch, they are only opened and poured into smaller containers during compatible transits and in the proper day and hour, with as little disturbance as possible. When ongoing maintenance during gestation is required, as in the case of agitating oils, this is also sympathetically timed.

28-Day Incubation PeriodAll creations are covered and left to rest undisturbed for one full lunar cycle. This allows the energy of the election to fully permeate the materia and prolongs the magical charge, making for a more potent object.

Branding, or Lack ThereofAll of our offerings come unbranded, meaning that there is no Sphere + Sundry labeling to be found on any object. This helps ensure purity of purpose, both physically and energetically. These creations are magical objects, and once they are in your hands, become yours. Labeling them, as such, would be at odds with their ultimate purpose, and your ability to feel and exercise full ownership. This also makes them more at home on altars, and purer vehicles for scrying and meditation.

Genuine Magical ArtifactsOur offerings are created in a genuine magical context for the purposes of similar application, using the highest and most thorough of standard protocol – precise timing, prayer, suffumigation, ingredients of genuine correspondence and sympathy, reputable seals and sigils, magic squares/ kameas, applicable numbers and colors, etc.

Shipping + HandlingMost of our wares are delicate and require great care in packaging, so as to prevent leaking and breakage. This is even more important than for most shipped goods, given the specific and irreplaceable nature of our offerings, which are handcrafted in extremely limited, often unduplicatable, runs. Bottles with the potential to leak are sealed with wax, and all goods are wrapped in copious amounts of tissue paper, both color coded to the nature of the work. Packages are sent daily via USPS + UPS. You will be notified by email and given a tracking code once your shipment has been processed. In the unlikely event that any of your goods are damaged, get in touch. We may not be able to offer a replacement, in which case, you can select store credit or a refund.

    Golden Sol II Incense + Powder

    Organic and wildcrafted Golden Sol II: Sun Without Sin herbal blend, powdered with royal hojari frankincense, mastic, arnica, and tangerine. Makes an exquisite smoke bath for cleansing spaces and the vessel (standalone or as part of bathing rituals), as well as an offering to Solar Spirits — at any time or during weekly devotions. Warming and gentle, yet profoundly renewing. Note that Sphere + Sundry's Incense Powders are designed to be burned *without* charcoal, on beds of premium ash in a firesafe dish or plate. Pour ash, then pat or use a tool to create a relatively smooth surface. Pour the desired amount of Incense Powder into the palm of your non-dominant hand, and use the other to assemble a thin peaked mound, line, or sigil, pinch by pinch.     Golden Sol II Talismans

    Modeled in hard carver’s wax, and cast in 90/10 Electrum [silver and gold] with calcined salts of cedar and frankincense. Casting was accompanied by suffumigation of saffron, cedar, bay laurel, and frankincense.

    On one side, the image of a rayed solar disc. The center of the sun is set with a quartz crystal cabochon lens representing the New Moon in Leo. Behind the lens, a gold disc enhances the brilliance, making the cabochon appear as if it radiates soft golden light, symbolizing the union of the Sun and Moon during the conjunction, and the qualities of clarity, renewal, and illumination.

    The reverse side features an intricate design of Apollo’s lyre, accented with serpent motifs. This image recalls the "Son of Apollo" Asclepius Series, a previous talisman collection focused on rejuvenation and healing. Apollo, associated with both the lyre and divine healing, connects the image to the Sun’s purifying and clarifying aspect. The serpents, symbolic of transformation, renewal, and wisdom, further align with the nature of this series. Through the cut-out design of the lyre, the golden disc seen from the opposite side of the talisman is visible, linking both sides in a harmonious reflection of the Sun’s light. The image and materials were chosen not to evoke the heat of the Sun but rather its brilliance, purifying, and life-giving qualities.

    Each Golden Sol II talisman arrives in a keepsake jewelry box wax-sealed with the glyph of the Sun, and a 20" silver chain.

    Talismanic Copper Vessels: Golden Sol II Edition

    Beautiful copper water bottles were laser etched with Sol's glyph as royal hojari frankincense and prayers uttered by the Mage washed over them, during the height of our Golden Sol II election During compatible auspicious times following, the Divine Letters of the Sun were added after Sol's glyph, taken from Agrippa's Three Books of Occult Philosophy. Water stored in, and taken from, pure copper is one of the healthiest ways to drink it, according to the Ayurvedic tradition. Fill with fresh, purified water. Shake 6 times, with prayers and intent for Solar and Leonine outcomes. Leave overnight, optionally — to maximize impact — on an Altar. Water within can be consumed, fed to plants, children, and animals, used to bloom rose of jericho (at the bedside, in the office, or anywhere energies would benefit from illumination and life-giving chi), and as a medicinal water added to diffusers, humidifiers, spiritual baths, floor washes, and the like.     The Torch of First Light Anointing Oil

    This is an experimental subset, designed to [ juice / milk ] the Sun and Moon coming together as One. Sol is the Spirit and the animating, Apollonian force, governing over all that is visible and apparent. The Moon is the Body, the animalic, and the subconscious, holding sway over what is hidden, esoteric, and mysterious. Each Luminary is arguably twice as important as a normal planet, as Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Mars, and Saturn all rule two signs (one yin, and one yang), while Moonstruck Cancer and Sun-soaked Leo serve as their own primal pairing, responsible for single, respective domains. Cancer and Leo, the two signs which just so happen to initiate creation in the Thema Mundi. The name, "Torch of First Light", is a double entendre — acknowledging the quality of the Solar charge in our Sun Without Sin election — like the first rays of sunlight meeting the morning dew, full of hope and the promise of a new day. Torches are smoll, portable fires carried to help escort their bearer through whatever darkness engulfs them, whether through a cramped, dungeonous corridor or a Moonless wood. The idea here, is to carry that Torch — that touch of Sunlight, within. Within the necessary darkness of the Mind, and density of the corporeal form — into the Body entire. To light recesses never before seen, and to facilitate cohesion and coherence of Self, from the inside out. Rather than outside in, as is the norm. This is a subset of introspection and of meditation. It ultimately heals, as gentle rays of sunlight do, but first — one must process what has been revealed. One must feel that which has been excavated, to eat and to digest and to metabolize it, to incorporate it into the One. For it is by becoming Whole and Unified in and of ourselves that the Fall is picked back up — Kintsugi'd — and the Garden, restored. The effects of this subset are, especially at first, heavy. The Descending Heart of the Sun. The Dark Moon of our election. They are also deeply activating, as one mentally escorts the Torch of First Light to various points within the Body and Mind, starting at the crown of the head, and descending... then stoking, until the entire vessel is consumed with the most brilliant rays of golden light, shining in perpetuity throughout space and time.     This entirely new Form was birthed by Sphere + Sundry's most recent Postpartum Release, as a spinoff of the Lip / Nip Sticks. Choose that one for general use (it's a more comfortable wear! which will surprise no one!), and this for Capricorn II things: productivity, focus, achievement, organization, and coordinated effort. Lip products are wonderfully functional as magical tools, as they specifically empower the speech. It is a very cool honor to pioneer them!     The TCM classic postpartum combination of red date, red date seed, and goji berry for building the blood and recuperation, alongside organic and wildcrafted galactagogic and adaptogenic herbs consecrated during Exalted Luna's election, tinctured in a combination of vodka and organic cane alcohol for maximum extraction.     A two-piece set — The first jar is comprised of organic herbs (ingredients list + warning below) consecrated alongside our Exalted Luna series. Chosen for their Lunar and Jupitarian allegiance, naturally empowered to calm inflammation, subdue soreness, and settle the Mind-Body complex. As an herbal steep, it was formulated with the triangular function of sitz bath decoction, adaptogenic, galactagogic [milk producing] tea, yoni steam, and Lunar floor wash. The second jar is epsom salts, enchanted with powdered Exalted Luna Powder / Incense blend and essential oils of frankincense, myrrh, mugwort, and hyssop. Unlike Sphere + Sundry's standard bathing salts, which are made of Dead Sea salt, epsom will not cause pain to sensitive or lightly wounded areas, and is designed to soothe and sedate, rather than cleanse.     Inspired by the Silverettes acquired in anticipation of my own postpartum experience, in the lead-up to Exalted Luna's working, I asked Tony if he would be willing to create Talismanic Nursing Cups during the operation. Ever the gentleman (and scholar!), he enthusiastically obliged —

    Moon in Taurus Nursing Cups

    Modeled in hard carver's wax, and cast in fine .999 silver. Around the outer edge in high relief are the 'characters of the moon' from book I, chapter 33 of H. Cornelius Agrippa’s ‘Three Books of Occult Philosophy’.

    Silver nursing cups are a breastfeeding aid designed to alleviate soreness and promote healing during breastfeeding. Cast from pure .999 fine silver, these reusable and durable dome-shaped cups act as a protective barrier over cracked or sore nipples. The natural antimicrobial properties of silver contribute to preventing infections and creating a comfortable environment for healing. Worn inside a bra, silver nursing cups provide comfort and shield from further irritation caused by contact with clothing. They allow air circulation while offering a non-toxic aid for breastfeeding mothers seeking relief. These cups were cast thicker than other nursing cups so as to provide more efficient transference of heat to aid in cooling and reduce inflammation. *Silver nursing cups are not a substitute for addressing latch problems or other breastfeeding issues. They serve as a supportive tool in the healing process, providing mothers with a reusable and effective aid for managing soreness during their breastfeeding stage.

    Fine silver nursing cups arrive in a keepsake pine and burlap jewelry box bearing a wax seal of the moon.

    These cups can be worn as Talismans outside of nursing purposes, and even used as tiny offering cups atop Lunar altars. Since each is its own Talisman, the Client technically receives two instead of one. Five sets were created in total, only four of which are being offered to the public ($999). Here our firstborn [of Form] is! This herbal infusion of organic calendula, marshmallow root, and plantain in organic olive oil and jojoba, was consecrated alongside the Exalted Luna series during Austin Coppock's choice of the finest election Jupiter conjoining the Moon in Taurus had to offer. Now that the Greater Benefic has moved into Gemini, one like it cannot be seeded for 11 years [from initial release]. Originally formulated as a balm for nursing mothers to provide relief to sore, chapped nipples [Luna rules the breasts and babies, in addition to feeding, soothing, and nurturing...], it works just as well upon on the lips, expanding its wondrous potentials!     Ash (Incense Add-On)

    Premium Japanese White Ash allows for heat diffusion and air circulation for the smooth burning of incenses and charcoal briquettes. Create an even bed of ash on any fire safe dish or incense burner, then use your fingers to put powdered Incense on top in the form of a small peaked mound, line, sigil, or glyph. For optimal burning, powders should be pinched to create a mountain top-like ridge along the full length of the burn. When lighting, ignite the ridge in one or more locations.
