Client Field Reports + Experiences Since 2018
My first experience with the DA materia was with the anointing oil, which I found so grounding and calming that I began carrying it in my bag every day. I’ve since purchased the it in several other forms to be used both on the body and in ritual. But the anointing oil is still my go-to. When I use it I feel like I’m marking myself as being under the protection of the gods. I am safe and I am not alone. I purchased this on a whim and I’m very happy I did! I love how versatile the bath salts are. I haven’t used them in the shower/bath yet, but I did use them as ritual salts before and during a few creative writing sessions, and they were pretty successful, both by themselves and paired with other materia (Capricorn II). I accidentally found out that this is good for rest! It is embarrassing to admit that I applied this several nights in a row believing it was the Cloud King salve I’d ordered at the same time. (The both had the older clear lids with the symbol instead of the name, and I was usually applying them in semidarkness. After the first time, I just reached for it without thinking twice!) Well, it worked for me. My experience with the Saturn in Aquarius materia has been that it calms me down when I’m overstimulated by reducing my mental clutter, which can often keep me from falling asleep. It’s a keeper for sure, and one I’ll definitely be reordering. I think I’ve reacted to this more strongly than I have any other materia. I’ve been dealing with a stressful work situation, so I was very happy when this was restocked, as I’ve responded well to other Venus materia. But I realized, after maybe a week or two of daily use, that I was maybe a bit *too* relaxed about my situation to the point of outright avoiding it in favor of mindless distractions. I think this one may work best for me when paired with other material, perhaps Saturn. I will continue experimenting! The scent is very jasmine-forward, and the vanilla amps up the rich, indolic qualities imo. I love the scent of real jasmine, so it’s a treat to use. I almost didn’t try anything from this materia, since I don’t aspire to leadership roles, but I’m glad I changed my mind. I’ve been trying to recognize and tap into my personal power. I feel like this kolonia helps clear away negative thoughts I have about myself, so it’s easier to see my own strength and worth. I’m looking forward to working with this more. The scent is lovely, like crisp citrus tea. I have a bit of a difficult relationship with Asclepius items sometimes - some of the items work really well and gently for me, whereas others induce more of a purge/healing crisis that I need to be careful with. I think this item falls in the latter category for me. It does have its use but I feel I need to be careful not to slather, and only use it when it feels like the right specific tool - more medicinal (and to be taken more seriously therefore) than the body butter for example, which is more forgiving. I'm so glad S+ honeys are officially edible from this one on!!! I do always partake internally anyway, but it was nice doing it with permission haha. As yummy and glorious as expected. Not as cinnamon-y as the other Sun in Leo honey, but otherwise I'm still working out their differences. I struggle a bit with the smell of this because the jasmine is prominent and I can find that overwhelming sometimes - but under it is a lovely light vanilla smell that is nice. Regardless of the jasmine, I'd say the effects of this are as expected - it makes me feel lighter emotionally but without feeling too indulgent/lazy, which is nice! I really love the Son of Apollo lip balm, and wasn't sure I'd like this one as much for some reason. I was wrong!! The frankincense is this is glorious and smells so good, and it feels nourishing and healing rather than too cleansing or stripping. Perfect before bedtime. Like a lot of the reviewers here, I wasn't expecting these salts to have such a comforting energy! As the election falls on my mum's birthday, I was inspired to ask her to help me scatter this on the edges of my balcony and wish for protection, and it was perfect. I got the large pot after that... This oil feels so warm and comforting to use. It truly feels like being healed by sunshine. For body applications, I use the salve for physical pain relief, and the oil for depression and mental health. I also like using the oil to dress candles for Apollo and Asclepius. I’ve been working a lot recently on developing better habits, as I have ADHD and I struggle with executive function. When I’m not in the habit of doing certain things, doing them feels like torture. So I was really attracted to the Saturn materia, and I’ve been using them a lot. Overall, Saturn in Aquarius feels calming to me, like it clears out the mental clutter. I find it really useful when I’m overstimulated or stressed. I have ADHD and my mind always feels a bit chaotic. It’s easy to get overstimulated if I have too much going on. I really like using these bath salts when I need to clear away the brain clutter. It helps me focus on the important stuff, tune out the rest, and ultimately calm down. I also love the minty fresh scent. They’re beautiful for ritual bathing, as I feel like they help clear away all of the mental and spiritual sludge., I really love the consistency of S&S’s salves and body butters. While I mostly apply this to the body for focus and energy, I’ve also used it to dress a candle for ritual. (A little goes a long way.) Very useful! I also find it applicable to many different circumstances, including both professional and creative writing (Mercury’s energy is so beautiful for communication), work, socializing, and lifting my mood. When I purchased these salts, I wasn’t entirely how I was going to use them, as I’m more of a shower person. Well, not only has S&S got me taking luxurious baths again, but I also find that the bath salts are great for so many other things. I use them the way I would ritual salts, in a circle around candles or in the doorway (as Mercury was the god of boundaries and the threshold). Very useful and versatile product! I love the Exhalted Luna materia. I purchased the oil first to try it out, then went on to purchase the bath salts and salve. I prefer the salve for body applications and the oil for anointing candles, either during a lunar ritual or in offering to Hekate or Selene. These are my most used bath salts from S&S. I truly feel restored after using them, and always sleep very well afterwards. I’ve also used them in lunar rituals and for offerings to Hekate and Selene. Thank you for offering these! I’m a shower person, but S&S bath salts have converted me to taking baths more frequently. These are my favorite (tied the Exalted Luna bath salts) and I *love* the citrus scent. I truly feel restored after using them. I never want to run out. I love this salve. It smells wonderful; herbal with a touch of sweetness, and not at all like vaporub. The salve is a deep, gorgeous yellow. I use it after praying to Asclepius for healing and pain relief, and it’s been very helpful to me. I’ll definitely repurchase it when I’m done with this tin. I bought this about 1.5 months ago and have already gone through a good chunk of my 4oz. tin! I love to use it before bed, particularly when I’ve had a rough day and need to care for myself. I took the post’s advice and have used it on my feet, and it’s worked very well. 🙂 This was part of my first order from S&S, and I ended up purchasing a second bottle. I have used it on myself and on my desk at work. It smells great, like lightly spiced palo santo. I’m not usually a fan of palo santo but it’s balanced well here. Deneb Algedi has become my go-to for any time I need to feel grounded, calm, and protected. I purchased the ritual salts for use in rituals involving Zeus, particularly when praying for protection. The color is beautiful! After purchasing a small vial of the DA anointing oil, I quickly purchased other materia in this collection. I find myself using it often for feeling grounded, protected, and calm. The body butter has a wonderful consistency and is very moisturizing. The Asclepius kolonia was the first product I purchased from S&S, and I’ve ended up going back to purchase most of the collection. I use it often for ritual cleansing before prayer or making offerings, and I feel like the astringent scent helps with my mindset. As soon as it’s back in stock I’ll be purchasing another. The Exalted Venus material smells especially lovely, like soft lavender and tonka, which immediately puts me in a calm and positive mood. Lately I’ve been trying to work through some stress at work, and I find myself turning to this one a lot to balance out the ‘work hard/get things done’ material I’ve been using.
