These, along with rose of jericho, were combined in a copper still and immersed in water freshly collected from the headwaters of the Sacramento River in Mt. Shasta. A hydrosol was produced, which was later combined with essential oils of frankincense and rosemary, carnelian, and grain alcohol during the Ras Alhague election, where the water was dedicated to Asclepius and received his blessing.
One of the beautiful qualities of this formulation is that upon vigorous shaking, it turns white — a color associated with healing and purity in many magical traditions.

Yes, this does smell OF THE SEA! For real. And I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way. How magnificent to bring the sea into my lovely bath tub (for which I am so grateful) combined with Star Power. I have been diving into my own 12th House (Sun conjunct Jupiter in Cancer) depths and have found the bpals and Annointing Oil extremely helpful (and informative- almost like if you could have a conversation *with* Pisces) and am quite enjoying the bath salts just for the evocative atmosphere they certainly provide. I really enjoy working with several elections’ materia but Fomalhaut is possibly my favorite. Extremely grateful for the insights and reassurance this series is providing.
So as the listings warn– this is very fishy smelling. In fact, it’s a little like having seawater in your tub. However! It’s very exfoliating, and excellent as a precursor ritual bath before attempting lucid or prophetic dreaming. The smell can also be easily covered with a bit of nice smelling bath oil.
These work for me exactly as described, and pair beautifully with the Fomalhaut oil to anoint myself after the bath. I have been noticing not only divination feeling quicker and clearer in general lately, but also messages / guidance coming in spontaneously without me even asking. Feeling very grateful for the gifts of Fomalhaut.
You’ve ever wanted to swim in a magical ocean? Yup, that is what these bath salts are like. In a sense, it reminds me to Immortal Heart bath salts in that it has this immense sense of scale, but its definitely oceanic, and deep. It’s gentle, taking you in, and taking you into yourself. Deeply oceanic.
