A gorgeous offering to Isis, to Mother Mary, to Demeter - a life jacket when one seems to be drowning in sorrow. I use this powder prior to working with the dead, putting on my own life jacket before leaping into the waters of pain and trauma - so that I may find myself back again intact.

I only just received this powder yesterday, but throughout the week that the order was making its way to me, I had a major breakthrough and new insights into familial and generational traumas, especially on the matrilineal side, making it clear to me what my place is in the interconnected story of my ancestors and how to move forward in peace and love.
I find that just keeping this powder by my bedside helps to facilitate deep emotional processing and meditation.

Immortal Heart Descending Heart Powder came in use this weekend when I unexpectedly lost a very close relative of mine. The entire Immortal Heart collection of materia I had was utilized but this powder specifically carried me through the wake, funeral, and internal grief I'm moving though. I fear this grief will be long lasting and deep, so will probably grab another 1/2 ounce to work with in the event I exhaust my existing vial.

This incense has been so helpful as I have moved through a time of ongoing grief. Our culture makes little space for grief, even in the face of extreme loss. We are expected to keep moving, keep participating, keep functioning. To offset this atmosphere, it feels important to mark our loss and acknowledge the absence of a loved one in our own spaces. I have been using this incense when I am experiencing more acute bouts of grief to create the space to feel deeply. The scent in the air reminds me there is room for my big feelings. The aromatics provide gentle support to fall into my sadness without collapsing. A well-blended incense shifts our perception and allows us to be more present with our process. This blend is a balm that allows us to make space for our grief without succumbing to it.

There are times when I think I'm all done with grieving. And then there are times when it starts sneaking up on me in random (and disruptive) ways, trying to let me know there's more tending to do. I have both the ascending and descending powder. Both of them have helped me sit with and integrate grief on a personal level. But lately, I have been using them in my restorative, somatic classes to help the participants just be with whatever comes up. I dress the candles in the room, sprinkle a bit in every corner, and rub some between my hands before I start the practice and I have noticed a big shift in how fast everyone in the room is able to drop in!

This Powder has been of incredible aid in my therapy sessions. I made a weird lumpy salve thing with this Powder and it’s very Unlike the IH Salve, which I also have, Descending IH Powder comforts, yes, but mostly I use my weird salve and put it on my feet so that I can walk through my pain, observe and analyze, verbalize, give it a name and now finally I’m moving on. I’ve been using this series and this powder HEAVILY for the past few months to deal with ISSUES but I can happily say that I’m done digging through the pain, IH has helped me expose it and treat it ( S+S IH Salve makes everything so much better) and now helped by this Venus Retrograde I’m rethinking my desires and wants and planning and envisioning my future, without the cumbersome pain dragging me down.
