Raising the Pylons of the Sun

The art created for this series was exacted at the correct hour and day following several days of fasting, prayers and solar devotions. The ankh, symbol of Going Forth and of immortal life, was added to the ram’s head after seeing a glowing version of it in dream. As the sun is eternal, so shall be the soul of those exalted beneath its beneficence. Thus, the piece is called ‘The Ascension of Amoun-Ra’ and is designed to be used as an altar image and focus of meditation.

The Ascension of Amoun-Ra: Raising the Pylons of the Sun is a votive ritual observance by which the solar sheaths of the physical, astral and etheric bodies are fortified and cleansed. For the ancient Egyptians no greater sun god existed than ram-headed Amoun-Ra. He was the literal and living embodiment of the sun. As such he established beside him for centuries a retinue of solar avatars who expressed specific attributes and powers needful for the full expansion of his cult. These were sometimes referred to as ‘pylons’: sentient manifestations of power which could confer upon devotees a wide array of abilities and talents. They were especially proficient at the rites of purity. ‘Raising the Pyons’ are designed to evoke into one’s bodies and souls the characteristics of these solar hypostases, and thus exalt the Royal Uraeus Crown to the Ba-Heart of Amoun-Ra.

I bought the Exalted Sol box set just so I could get my hands on this! I've had the image and text for a while but performed the ritual for the first time on New Year's Day 2023 at sunrise. Seemed like an auspicious coincidence that this new year begins on a Sunday, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity. Not even a third of the way through the process of vibrating the names, I began to feel an electric buzz tingling in my arms and torso. The power is palpable.

I'm glad I started the new year with this and profusely thank Kaitlin + co for the rare opportunity to work a ritual (and own a print!) from Robert Fitzgerald.

This icon and rite contain incredible powers of purification. Calling on the pylons of the sun by the names provided in the ritual text unlocked a shimmering, nourishing force that built dramatically in my space. The brightness and power remained tangible for days/weeks after performing the ritual. As an added bonus, the ritual text proved to be an inspiration for creating a similar rite building on this structure.

Thank you Amoun-Ra! And Katilin! And Robert! And Austin!
I try to order a selection of bath salts, incense and oil with every new release. I have found each offering to be beneficial in its own way. However, the exalted sol has yielded extreme effects that cannot be ignored, denied, or attributed to any other source. I performed the Amoun- Ra ritual incorporated with a bath ritual utilizing the exalted sol incense, bath salts, and oil this May. During and after the ritual, I felt empowered to face a pending challenging family task that ultimately has the makings of a multi-part ancestry action/drama. I had success in this task where multiple previous attempts had failed. A fun strange side effect- when I returned from this task, the cut dark red peonies I had left at my bedside turned completely white. Could write a novel on this topic as fueled by that ritual, but I will spare the reader such tediousness and simply end with: this is powerful and effective!
