I have Venus in Scorpio so working with this materia in ritual has been fundamental in seeing my enemies before they smell me so that I am prepared for attack. Antares as a series is also opening up my spell work in ways I wasn’t expecting and it’s been a really happy surprise for me. Delving deeper into Occult studies and other forms of magic have been rabbit holes I’ve fallen down - including numbers and synchronicities. I love this!

Beyond true to its description, this is a focused, subversive oil that safeguards and commands. It safeguards by paralyzing and annihilating distractions, where after application there is a sharp and distinct silence that follows. In this silence, it commands singular and overwhelming focus to a task, clarifying potential and magnifying discipline. Overall, an optimal oil for drawing the impossible out of those willing to meet its spirit.

I use this oil very sparingly because while so potent and direct, I find that I get a build up of unexpressed energy and then get really frustrated. It is bringing to my attention the need to allow that energy to expressed or channeled as it needs to.

You need to use it sparingly as it heats and it is best to use it when you are alone as it tends to activate. Perfect when you are not able to find the energy that you need to embrace the day or before workout sessions. It also protects and intimidates.

I’ve taken a lot of heat and relational trauma over my lifetime with aspects in Scorpio 5th house. One set of traumas resurfaced the other night and triggered legitimate (but inconvenient and wearying) rage, such that I reached for Heart at bedtime, despite the cautions in write-up. And rather than “start slow”, I applied liberally and then just curled up in bed and went to sleep. For me, Heart is instantly calming, secure, protective, warming, and wholly *redeeming* — the presence of Scorpion seeing exactly who you are and why, and treasures every sincere part of you, gently instilling new armor around the heart space, and filling in any gaps or crazing with pure gold. Impeccable.

I’ve used Heart periodically for grit and to get through work days in tough times, but it is astoundingly instantly effective in times of need of protection, comfort, security, and serious anger management. It may be that in reaching for the help of Heart, one acknowledges and owns the rage and *cares* for it with love, easing the way to self-integrating and gently renewed self-authority; in any case, for me Heart gets right to the heart of the moment and closes ranks around the part that hurts, that didn’t deserve attack, and that needs swift accurate formidable defense. After years of unjust treatment by one person in particular, Heart let me actually *rest*, distance, and sleep like a baby — protected, adored, and all of my parts, even my challenging traits, whole and fully redeemed.

I didn't choose this materia, it chose me. This is powerful, potent, and worthy of respect. A wonderful ally and tool for those who struggle with over-empathy, self sacrifice, and porous boundaries. I keep this covered in a special home, it does not mingle with the rest of my life. I have used this alongside Algol work, and follow it up with a deep cleanse and then anoint with Eirene.

I got this after divination was really firmly telling me to get it, even though I was wary after using Azure Dragon (which I love, but is like ingesting jet fuel for me!). I wasn't even sure what I would need it for. Sure enough, just a week or two after ordering it, a situation came up where I definitely needed it. I was careful with it, though, and then one day the anointing oil jumped out of my hand and I spilled it all over the place. Reader, I have never been so productive. A little goes a little way, a lot goes a looooong way. Definitely will be reordering, since I only have about 1/4 of it left after that!
