Son of Apollo Incense + Powder
Consecrated Son of Apollo herbal blend, ritually fumigated during Sphere + Sundry’s 2023 Asclepius election with the support of Jupiter in Aries, powdered with carnelian, 24k gold, and frankincense.
Formulated to work beautifully as an Incense for offerings, smoke bathing the body, and interior spaces to banish low vibrations (+ the Dead) — particularly after someone has been unwell, and/ or as a magical Powder for dressing candles, sprinkling, and adding as an ingredient in spell work.
A brighter, warmer form of Asclepius, perfect for constitutions and scenarios which would benefit from bio-spiritually available, easily assimilable forms of supplemental light and healthy yang.
One could also select Son of Apollo by day and classic Asclepius by night…
Arrives in a 1/2 oz glass vial with cork top and 24k gold, or 2 oz bulk pot.
Note that Sphere + Sundry’s Incense Powders are designed to be burned *without* charcoal, on beds of premium ash in a firesafe dish or plate. Pour ash, then pat or use a tool to create a relatively smooth surface. Pour the desired amount of Incense Powder into the palm of your non-dominant hand, and use the other to assemble a thin peaked mound, line, or sigil, pinch by pinch. These can be quite thin if desired. The neater and more ridged your shape is, the better it will burn! Light the top of the ridge to ignite.
Taking time to prepare Incense in this way can be a meditative and centering experience, and allows the practitioner to create custom burn times with zero waste. If your line ends up too long, simply use a knife to ‘cut’ the fresh powder away from the ignited portion to use later.

This incense is a must-have in the wintertime where I live, where the skies are mostly cloudy and grey for three months straight. It's not so bright that I can't burn it in my bedroom, but there is a definitely sunlight to it that helps evaporate the winter blahs.
This is my favoured incense for clearing and healing magic! It feels golden, glowing and I actually love the smell of the smoke. Feels gentle enough to use without fear of it scrubbing away too much or being too strongly scented.
It's so interesting feeling the difference between this and the main series. I've infused both SoA and Asclepius powders in oil and feel the palpable difference between the two. I sprinkled a bit of this onto a deeply neglected elderberry seedling with no clear signs of aliveness above roots (I know, I'm sorry :-() with some prayers and nevertheless, Mother Elder persisted and looked even better than before <3 Tempted to sprinkle even just lil amounts to other plants, to show em extra love
I fumigate myself with this 1-2 times per week. This routine has helped me make healthier decisions, and my body just feels better, less desperate, less constrained and oppressed, more expansive, expressive, and free. I also fumigate myself with this before personal alone time, and that is by far my favorite use. It unlocked bodily things that I didn't even know were possible. I used to get slight lower back aches, and those have gone away unless I try to tune into it, which I don't recommend. My tailbone often hurts, and this lessens it. I've paired this with Descending Heart, which I highly recommend - it brought a light and levity to my heart center.
If I ever had to tell someone, even a person completely inexperienced with the realm of magical materia, to get one and only one item - this would be it. It's as safe as it gets, a great place to begin with because there is no harm that could ever come from it. It's cleansing, protecting and restoring. On the other hand, an advanced practitioner will benefit from it as much, if not more, as a beginner. It's perfect for cleansing any residual energies from other workings, for supporting self-healing or healing of others, for protecting against darkness, to remove any unwelcome spiritual presence. It has many uses and, in my humble opinion, should find its way into any practitioner's hands.
One of my most used incenses. I find it works wonders as a mood booster. I feel more optimistic and divinely protected and supported. Thank you!
Be prepared-using Son of Apollo powder has been a very healing experience. It can bring up deep down reasons for some physical problems. Personally, I experienced an increase of a particular symptom and then had a very intense emotional cleansing down to the point of old childhood stuff coming up that surrounded said injury. I will say it was heavy-but it healed very quickly-and the emotional stuff has not resurrected since(THAT is a first)-and the physical has been far less than it ever was. I knew it was gonna be some good stuff-but I am blown away at how it worked so fast and so well. Highly recommended.
This and classic Asclepius are my most-used incenses. Its energy is like a ray of sunshine. Whenever I need a little more optimism or pep in my step, this is what I reach for.
I adore this incense. It is tied for my favorite Sphere and Sundry incense (tied with Regulus!) and use it at least weekly, if not daily. This incense fills you with a bright sense of reassurance and healthfulness. It has helped me through many illnesses in my family: I am able to stay more grounded and even-keel as I care for my sick family members. For me, the Son of Apollo line has a strong emotional support aspect. This incense is one of my staples from Sphere and Sundry.
I love this incense. For people new to S+, know that these are true incenses and may have a little learning curve. I like working with it as a magical powder as well. I had the son of Apollo 3 powder and this is even better since it is versatile acting as both an incense and a powder.
Protip: try cutting a small amount of your powder with arrowroot to make a dusting powder that will last. This is only my recommendation for powerfully stretching powder, not for lighting as incense (not sure how that would work out) but in my experience arrowroot powder feels like a magnifier for the energies promoted by the base materia.
I’ve used this powder in different ways: in my son’s hair when he had a head cold; dressed a candle with it when my 80-year-old mom was in the hospital after having had a seizure (she was released just 3 days later in unbelievable condition); and dressed candles for my 93-year-old cousin as she was transitioning as well as her two daughters. I find this powder gives comfort and heals what needs to be healed. It’s easy to work with. It’s like having support I can lean on whenever I need it. So grateful to have this on hand.
I used both Asclepius and Son of Apollo incense interchangeably smoke bathing myself almost during a ritual leading up to a follow up important medical appointment where I’d been trying to get an issue taken seriously and had been fighting to get into the ‘right hands’. The incense does clear the space, but I also found it very helpful, and did in the days after find myself in the ‘right hands’, rather amusingly given I’m not from Greece and don’t encounter many Greek doctors… the doctor/surgeon/‘right hands’ is a Greek doctor (who trained in America in the speciality I ended up needing). No matter whether you would consider that a lucky coincidence, beautiful synchronicity or helping hand. Regardless of which, I found the incense very helpful and it aided in providing me in what I needed and was working towards.
as mentioned in my other reviews for v. 4 this iteration seems more insulating/comforting to me than the others - in a good (the best) way. I mistakenly burned some SOA incense at night instead of the regular ASC and oof couldn't sleep! Definitely for daytime use only. I use the incense ritually for clearing out stuck energies in the home (read: teenagers bringing home nasties), dressing candles and the like. Don't know what I would do without the hunky healer in my sphere, and so grateful I don't have to find out.
