Soothing and smells delicious! My children love it too. Great for creating a harmonious atmosphere between them when they're quarrelling. I spritz the kitchen, then call them in for a drink and a biscuit when they're fractious. Sorted!
Butter ocean hydrosol is a deeply comforting experience. It increases compassion and resilience and it feels uplifting and supportive. It is stabilizing in a soothing and comforting kind of way. Helps temper any heightened states that need balancing. It does sensitize me sometimes, as my boundaries are already a little porous. So I will layer with Deneb Algedi, exalted Luna, or Mars in cap, if I’m needing more boundary reinforcement. If you’re someone who’s typically very stoic and firm in your boundaries, you might rly benefit from some softening that this can provide. Overall this hydrosol is soothing, comforting, uplifting, balancing, and harmonizing. Definitely recommend.
I've never really smelled anything like this. I love it for Jovial workings, and working Jove back into my aura. Solid choice!
love the scent & how uplifting it feels
I’m thinking keeping a bottle at work would do wonders for me. It’s excellent for a calming and relaxing vibe but I am also not too relaxed with just a spritz.
Soothing and relaxing. The most gentle and subtle of all the Jupiter series, so probably perfect for by those who have a resistance to Jupiter and just want to try it out. Compared to Cloud Kingdom, not as philosphical, more of an overall relaxation. Layers with anything.
I keep this on my end table to spray before bed. It's great for grounding or for a good night sleep after I've had a rough day. I also sometimes spray it on myself before work if I feel I need a little extra protection for the day. I find the smell to be really warm and soothing. Reminds me of pancakes.
This hydrosol is such a sanity saver when it comes to parenting. It calms the energy between my kid and I, helping us to maintain equanimity where otherwise the tension would build in a disagreement. I find myself staying calm and patient longer and I notice my kid behaving more diplomatically as well. Our relationship feels supported with this materia and I am witnessing it deepening. What a blessing!
Anytime I’m feeling stressed, low, anxious, imbalanced, depressed, nervous, grumpy, etc, just a couple spritzes of this heavenly magic snd I immediately feel calmer and more at ease. It’s honestly impressive how well this works for helping with any kind of emotional regulation. Also incredibly nice if you just want to relax and have an extra nice time doing it, but could also be just as helpful in any kind of spiritual or meditative setting too. A stress diffuser and tension melter! The effects are truly sublime.
Barely any words when I think of this hydrosol except "good". If that's the type of golden retriever mind chatter you would like to get on, then this is that spray. The writeups and descriptions for this series are really apt. Just use it!
I use my bottle of Butter Ocean hydrosol almost daily— I’m so glad I invested in the larger size.
If a part of me feels missing, Butter Ocean softly & steadily fills that void so I feel more whole again— like a tide coming back in.
If I feel irritable and frustrated, Butter Ocean washes those feelings away, leaving peace and positivity in their wake.
If my mind is unsettled, my thoughts racing and I can’t get out of my head, Butter Ocean comes on cold water running over my wrist to soothe a fever, and I can allow myself to calm down.
It helps me maintain a sense of childlike wonder, and pay more attention to the beauty of the world around me.
While Butter Ocean’s smell isn’t quite my cup of tea, its scent dissipates quickly after spraying, and certainly doesn’t affect my love of this remarkable hydrosol.
As a linen spray, this hydrosol calmly places me in the arms of angels. Anxiety dissolves and sleep overcomes. Subtle but powerful.
I used the Butter Ocean hydrosol this evening after a very Saturnian day of filing taxes, and it was the most immediate shift in my energy for any Sphere and Sundry water yet. The smell of this hydrosol is divine and delicious. When I spray it on my body, I feel instant relief. This will be a friend to me after long days.
I enjoy the scent of the hydrosol - and did made a successful petition with just a bit of the liquid in a vial to delay the rain for NYE fireworks. It really shows just how potent the materia can be! Thanks to the S+S team for this product - as well as the participating planets in the election 🙂

This hydrosol works so well layered with other Butter Ocean forms, as well as with many other series, but it is the versatility that is the most beneficial for me. I can use it before nearly anything without adverse or undesired effects. It seems to help in just the right way, very helpful for gently clearing in a Butter Ocean kind of way. This series has been growing on me slowly but I've come to really enjoy the softness I experience.
This hydrosol can be used as a sort of "calming Jupiterian buffer" before either work or sleep for me. I sometimes use it after cleansing with my Kolonia from this series for added support in all things Jupiter. Additionally, I find this hydrosol relaxing enough to use it to unwind before recreational activities, or to get on the way to feeling better when more stressed than usual.
I was really excited to get butter ocean, it felt like something that has been needed in my life for quite a while. This is an excellent series, it is extremely comforting and is excellent for sleep and dreaming. It does have quite a sweet pleasant smell to it as well. I love using this for aiding in calming down from stresses and bouts of anxiety- it is extremely effective. Highly recommended!
I sprayed this before a massage this afternoon and it was the most intensely relaxing session with my regular masseuse. I'd planned for some paddleboarding afterwards, but headed home for a nap... and woke up in that disorienting state where you don't know what day or time or place it is. Which was healing - to get out of my mundane work mind and enter into another dimension of being. Sometimes I think Butter Ocean has no effect on me - then I experience it profoundly. Conclusion is to engage it during restorative practices rather than an intervention in my work day.
I spray my sheets with this water before bed especially if I have had a long day or have worked with any materia that winds me up (exalted mercury--looking at you bestie lol). This wasn't instant love, I will admit I didn't understand the power of the relaxation this hydro could provide. I am now repurchasing this again because it has become very helpful for my rest.
I've found that this spray is REALLY good for sleep, which was not why I bought it but I'm so glad I did. I'll spray it on my bed sheets and right above my head before sleep, but I'll also use it in the day time to help smooth all the rough edges of the day. It's a subtle effect but really nice!
I started using this spray before going to work. It didn't have an immediate, bombastic impact like some other series have, but over time I've noticed the work get easier. My coworkers have gotten better at expressing what they need from me, and I've been sending in work that's only gotten minor revisions. Meeting times have shortened. The work seems to be getting done faster than usual, and the newest tasks assigned to me are my favorite kinds of upkeep and administrative work. There's about to be a major change in leadership, but people have been calm and focused in meetings instead of stressed and anxious. Just good stuff!
This has quickly become my most-used hydrosol. I most often do a single spray above my head right before bed because I've been getting such great sleep when I do, but I've also had good results using it in the daytime when I need a calming boost. My experience has been that it's not at all drowsy-making like some other materia can be, and also not overly buzzing in the way of Jupiter in Sag. Just a calm sense of well-being that improves my experience of whatever part of the day I find myself in.
The scent is somehow both refreshing and buttery, in a really pleasant way. Truly love this stuff.
Quieter than other Jupiter series for me but excellent for chilling out and winding down. I like it in all four corners of a room. I’ve found 3 sprays to be the optimal dosage, which means it can go fast but I would guess if you’re not trying to bring out the relaxing/chill energies a single spray in the morning could be nice. Works well on candles too which surprised me!
Asclepius is the only hydrosol that I've stuck with, until BO came on the scene. When I was in the throes of the dreaded dual anxious and depressed state that these times are now known for, I was more than nudged to add this to my collection of benefic medicines. Spraying it on my bed linens not only helps me wind down gently at night, but keeps the black dog at bay in the liminal morning hours, when its bite would otherwise be worse than its bark. Another spray post-shower helps to further set the day's more positive tone. Grateful X 1000.
I vibe with this series very well, and I use this water on a near-daily basis. I usually spray it on either before work or in my hair after I've shampooed and showered. I wish I could convey the comforting, good vibes that this series emanates. I truly feel like I'm insulated from negativity, and as of late I've been managing to hold on to more of my money despite the rising cost of everything. I have many items from this series, but this is definitely the one I use the most.
Favourite water to spray above myself once I am in bed. Immediately comforting and soothing. Pairs well with any salve or body butter that I choose to use before sleep. Favourite way to combine is with Fomalhaut salve or EVII salve. Grateful for this offering!
It's a lovely spray for putting on beds or couches, but I've mostly found it really useful in creating a buffer while using a materia you're trying to mitigate some of the more intense effects of (Amenti bath soak in my case). It genuinely makes things feel more palatable and comfortable. In conjunction with DAII material it gives a sort of "inside a very solid, safe castle, laying on a couch" vibe. I also really enjoy the scent. Good for applying to the body as well! Chilling Out in a bottle.
I’m a very Saturnian person, so I was wary of both the relaxation and the “buttery” aspects of this series (I rarely eat things made with butter), but I’m glad I tried it. I was not expecting it to be as strong as it is—I immediately feel relaxed with one spritz. It took a little getting used to, but now I love it, especially when I’m busy at work/working late and/or using very active materia but still have to get up early in the morning. A spritz or two, and I’m ready for bed, without any problem getting up the next morning.
Also, it smells like French toast without making me actually crave French toast, which is just delightful.
This water is one of the few items I had to warm up to! I thought it might not be for me when I first engaged with it but boy I was wrong about that!
If you’re dealing with discomfort or insomnia, a spritz of this in your bed is a game changer. I also find that it is a great help in relaxing into your dreams for manifesting specifically. I notice that when I use this spray and speak whatever I want to happen the next day, it has a way of working out. I’m so glad I hung onto this stuff because it’s become a really helpful ally for me.
I love this hydrosol on my bed linens. I often pair it with either Immortal Heart, Luna in Cancer, or even Fomalhaut. Butter Ocean is just here to help you relax. Buffering, soothing, and just happy without hyping you out. Or like when you're ready to nap on a sunny beach towel when you're on vacation.
