We opened our skylights to the public in June of 2018, coining the term “Talismanic Materia” to describe the nature of what was on offer — series of Materia Magica produced on distinct ritual operations, using talismanic-grade elections expertly chosen in collaboration with astrologer Austin Coppock, Picatrix-style procedures, and a mix of classical, modern, and syncretic correspondences.
It has greeted and escalated a rising tide of popular interest in planetary, stellar, and talismanic magic as a particular focus, method, and specialty, by showcasing how powerful, potent, and relevant these ancient technologies are in modern, real-world contexts.
Sphere + Sundry has made astrological magic infinitely more versatile, branching far beyond the standard of jewelry, and extraordinarily accessible, simultaneously raising the bar in terms of quality of ingredients, professional performance, and customer service.
The project has shipped over 16 *tons* of roughly 300,000 units, representing millions of effective, life-changing doses to over 55 countries worldwide (as of July 2023). It has popularized methods innovated by its Mage and founder, Kaitlin Coppock, and become a lighthouse and blueprint for hundreds of practitioners, proprietors, and small businesses inspired by not only its commercial success, but its ability to deliver nearly unheard of results on a reliable basis.
The thoroughly field-tested astro-magical technologies Sphere + Sundry espouses have *incredible potential* to help Humankind, especially as a supplement to the healing arts, somatic and experiential astrological education, and natal chart remediation. As is, it magically links thousands of like-Minded, like-Hearted, and like-Spirited Others, empowering each series’ Egregore, fortifying, and unifying the collective field(s) of those who partake.
Mother of Materia
The field downstream has been immensely influenced by Kaitlin’s original work, evident in terminologies, aesthetics, and a comprehensive approach which did not exist prior to Sphere + Sundry’s inception. She has paved the way for myriad others entering the starry-field of talismanic output as a proof-positive model of excellence and efficacy.
What began as 1 ex-web designer/ hausfrau making magic in her kitchen and shipping from the garage, has grown to provide for many families and individuals, encompassing an entire multi-building campus in Southern Oregon, which will open for events, workshops, and conferences in late 2023-2024. The magic of how that came to be was detailed in Part I of the write-up for Kaitlin’s Opus, the Thema Mundi series.
Two interviews are available for those curious to learn more: Foolish Fish from June 2023, primarily about the talismanic method (great for people just getting started!), and Rune Soup from May 2019, less than a year into the project, about Kaitlin’s background and approaching ethos.

Artisanal + HandcraftedAll our offerings are designed and crafted by the hand of Kaitlin Coppock to painstaking specification. This includes distinctive ingredients, limited timeframes, and the utmost care in every aspect of the process, from planning to creation to packaging.
Talismanic Chart SelectionOur creations are more than casually or superficially related to their namesakes. They are timed to the exacting specifications of a professional talismanic standard, taking into account the quality of the target placement, visibility, speed, retrogradation, interfering and supporting factors, planetary days and hours, and angles of the chart, among a myriad of further considerations. This can leave less than an hour for the creation of a talismanic object. All Sphere + Sundry elections are determined in consultation with astrologer Austin Coppock.
Bottling + MaintenanceWhenever possible, creations are sealed at the time of the election in the same bottle you will receive, and are not opened until you crack the seal. In the case of using a Mother batch, they are only opened and poured into smaller containers during compatible transits and in the proper day and hour, with as little disturbance as possible. When ongoing maintenance during gestation is required, as in the case of agitating oils, this is also sympathetically timed.
28-Day Incubation PeriodAll creations are covered and left to rest undisturbed for one full lunar cycle. This allows the energy of the election to fully permeate the materia and prolongs the magical charge, making for a more potent object.
Branding, or Lack ThereofAll of our offerings come unbranded, meaning that there is no Sphere + Sundry labeling to be found on any object. This helps ensure purity of purpose, both physically and energetically. These creations are magical objects, and once they are in your hands, become yours. Labeling them, as such, would be at odds with their ultimate purpose, and your ability to feel and exercise full ownership. This also makes them more at home on altars, and purer vehicles for scrying and meditation.

Shipping + HandlingMost of our wares are delicate and require great care in packaging, so as to prevent leaking and breakage. This is even more important than for most shipped goods, given the specific and irreplaceable nature of our offerings, which are handcrafted in extremely limited, often unduplicatable, runs. Bottles with the potential to leak are sealed with wax, and all goods are wrapped in copious amounts of tissue paper, both color coded to the nature of the work. Packages are sent daily via USPS + UPS. You will be notified by email and given a tracking code once your shipment has been processed. In the unlikely event that any of your goods are damaged, get in touch. We may not be able to offer a replacement, in which case, you can select store credit or a refund.

The Throne’s Altar Box Sets
Altar Boxes + Ritual Sets, Sold Out, Talismans + Reliquaries, Third Decan of CapricornThe Altar Boxes for Capricorn III have been thoughtfully designed to properly stow all of the offerings which come with your full set, and have been custom crafted of pure walnut, finished with tung oil and citrus. These include small jewelry boxes made of matching wood with emerald silk pillow. The Boxes themselves can be used as an Altar surface (open or closed), with two levels of storage and secret storage places. Note that they are considerably larger than our old boxes, and will take up more room, but are also tremendously high quality and one of a kind, likely qualifying as heritable heirlooms. Casting was accompanied by suffumigation of saffron, cedar, bay laurel, and frankincense.
On one side, the image of a rayed solar disc. The center of the sun is set with a quartz crystal cabochon lens representing the New Moon in Leo. Behind the lens, a gold disc enhances the brilliance, making the cabochon appear as if it radiates soft golden light, symbolizing the union of the Sun and Moon during the conjunction, and the qualities of clarity, renewal, and illumination.
The reverse side features an intricate design of Apollo’s lyre, accented with serpent motifs. This image recalls the "Son of Apollo" Asclepius Series, a previous talisman collection focused on rejuvenation and healing. Apollo, associated with both the lyre and divine healing, connects the image to the Sun’s purifying and clarifying aspect. The serpents, symbolic of transformation, renewal, and wisdom, further align with the nature of this series. Through the cut-out design of the lyre, the golden disc seen from the opposite side of the talisman is visible, linking both sides in a harmonious reflection of the Sun’s light. The image and materials were chosen not to evoke the heat of the Sun but rather its brilliance, purifying, and life-giving qualities.

The Torch of First Light Anointing Oil

Sol is the Spirit and the animating, Apollonian force, governing over all that is visible and apparent. The Moon is the Body, the animalic, and the subconscious, holding sway over what is hidden, esoteric, and mysterious. Each Luminary is arguably twice as important as a normal planet, as Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Mars, and Saturn all rule two signs (one yin, and one yang), while Moonstruck Cancer and Sun-soaked Leo serve as their own primal pairing, responsible for single, respective domains. Cancer and Leo, the two signs which just so happen to initiate creation in the Thema Mundi. The name, "Torch of First Light", is a double entendre — acknowledging the quality of the Solar charge in our Sun Without Sin election — like the first rays of sunlight meeting the morning dew, full of hope and the promise of a new day. Torches are smoll, portable fires carried to help escort their bearer through whatever darkness engulfs them, whether through a cramped, dungeonous corridor or a Moonless wood. The idea here, is to carry that Torch — that touch of Sunlight, within. Within the necessary darkness of the Mind, and density of the corporeal form — into the Body entire. To light recesses never before seen, and to facilitate cohesion and coherence of Self, from the inside out. Rather than outside in, as is the norm. This is a subset of introspection and of meditation. It ultimately heals, as gentle rays of sunlight do, but first — one must process what has been revealed. One must feel that which has been excavated, to eat and to digest and to metabolize it, to incorporate it into the One. For it is by becoming Whole and Unified in and of ourselves that the Fall is picked back up — Kintsugi'd — and the Garden, restored. The effects of this subset are, especially at first, heavy.
