At long last, after almost 6 years(!) of Spheres and of Sundries, a Luna in Taurus series befitting our Talismanic x Remedial criteria presented itself on November 24th, 2023. Without any consideration for this as a factor, it was exactly 1-year from when the Thema Mundi operation began on 11:24:22, seeded by one single power — the Moon on day 1 of ritual cloister.

Ripples on ripples…

And what an incredible series to welcome into the World at this time, with all of the stability, sanity, and enrichment it shall bring! For it fills a vital gap: that of a user-friendly, safe for general consumption, easily digestible Lunar Power.

Unlike the Luna in Cancer series, replete with warnings due to its potential volatility and power to pull harshly at the psychological and psychic tides, the Moon in Taurus here (bolstered by Jupiter!) reinforces, steadies, grounds, and tonifies the Lunar Sphere.

Many Clients will be surprised at how an especially healthy, supported, saatvic and well-resourced Moon feels, because it’s likely to feel like… less.

Less… loopy, mystical, and mysterious than they were anticipating (or maybe even hoping!)

Less… Venus-y, because Taurus is *so heavily* associated with its Ruler, and that’s the flavor of Taurus you’ve likely been served before.

Less… like the Greater Benefic, because it’s in the title — and again, our palettes are so well primed for the Jupiterian wavelength after 6 dedicated series.

But there are other things that it brings real relief to experience less of, such as: anxious states… overactive mental winds… and feeling unmoored, confused, and insecure. Adrenal fatigue. The absence of true rest and deep-seated rejuvenation. High quality, reliable  sleep. Disturbed health on whatever mental, emotional, or bodily front.

Remember that the Moon by Herself is a neutral force, *not* a Benefic. For this reason, being Exalted is of great service in regard to Her transmissions and capacities, and conjunct a Benefic, a real buoy.

This brings us to a point we’ve made time and time again: that Rulerships are powerful but they aren’t as efficient or supportive as planets in their Exaltations. Cancer is Cardinal, which makes it active and initiatory, and of the Water element, keying it to the ever-shifting Oceanic currents, and constant pull of never-ending tides.

The Moon *Rules* Cancer because it’s a match for Luna’s own changeable nature… always in motion and making entire Zodiacal sweeps, weaving literal Aspects into Being and dissolution along Her perpetual course of waxing and waning.

Taurus, on the other hand, is Fixed… made *moreso* by its elemental Earth.

Here, the waters of the Moon are held securely in the cups and bowls of Mother Nature Herself: pools and lakes… placid and reflective, still and contemplative. Stores and resources, Exalted in their reliable simplicity.

This Form of water feature has long-served Humankind as the centerpiece of gardens, opulent or simple, lined by sitting areas which serve as a place for rest, reflection, and bonding.

As we slowly meander along the pebbled path before us, dappled by rose bushes, we find ourselves at the water’s edge of Taurus’ inner sanctum… content and without care. Delicate breezes wash over our sensoriums with the refreshing scent of fresh blooms and almond blossom.

Pools and ponds serve as accessible reservoirs for whatever living creatures need refreshment, including us. On an energetic level, the same Power provides nourishment and a stable store of yin energy from which to draw from, first filling the cups and spoons within, which might otherwise be on the verge of empty.

Jupiter’s influence in the election increases our pool’s volume and capacity, adding a cleansing layer of sanctifying and s(m)ooo!)thing clarity. A sense that all will be well, and reminder of the fact that, yes — there is plenty.

The most common sensation upon application has been that of light sedation. A calming, cooling, and grounding effect that mounts to relieve and dismiss more extreme emotional fluctuations. Excitation and agitation recede, creating and reinforcing a new baseline. The guards of the limbic and nervous systems stand down, washed over; lulled by gentle, yet growing sensations of calm, safety, and security — even if primarily on a subconscious level.

Over time, these newer, steadier grooves become engraved into the neural pathways, like a diamond-tipped etching pen crafting Talismanic images upon the finest Moonstone, or Mother of Pearl.

The Wanderer finds themselves in that garden — a saner, smoother, more together, and less bothered version of their former selves, having been cocooned and cultivated in the Exalted realm of the Lunar Sphere.

It is very likely that Luna’s initial assessment may find many of us in states of depletion, and the Power’s focus will be filling us back up before providing additional energy to ‘spend’ on things aside from ourselves (and our nests). The more built up these stores become through application over time, the less likely Exalted Luna is to produce drowsiness or excessive slowing as a side effect (unless that’s what we truly need at the time!).

There is room for negotiation here via the layering of other influences, to combat side effects such as lethargy or laziness, should they present.

This Power is great for mental, emotional, and bodily health. It is excellent for the seemingly spontaneous dismissal of yin woes — lack of stability, relational issues, matrilineal strife, and emotional dis-regulation, restoring (or facilitating) the ability to attach securely — both to ourselves and those in our orbit. It stabilizes and repairs by virtue of Being, requiring little to no effort on the part of the wearer (think Immortal Heart, but without the tears!).

It makes almost everything better, with the simple act of drinking deeply from it. By Being in communion with it.

Part of that is the support of Jupiter, who can always be relied upon to supply the spoon full of sugar that helps the medicine go down! This phenomenon can be experienced/ observed in field reports for the Asclepius II and Deneb Algedi II elections vs. others of their ilk. 

Though it is fitting to key application of Exalted Luna to when R&R is already on the menu, such as before bed and during down time, it is is also remarkably flexible, and more suitable for routine application or ‘spamming’ than most. She is especially compatible with Venus, Jupiter, Asclepius, and Deneb Algedi materia, in addition to stabilizing the Cancerian Lunar form.

Hotter influences, it will likely balance. Martial currents in particular — due to Luna and Mars’s inherently… tenuous… relationship, the adventurous among us will clearly have to experiment + report back to the Client Community!

While strong Taurean and Lunar influences certainly help facilitate rest and relaxation, the deep wells of sustain and endurance they bring are just as real. It all depends on what one needs at the time, since the Moon’s central preoccupation is first seeing that Her children are fed, watered, slept, and just generally, well taken care of.

That makes it excellent for ensuring resources on the home-front, and supporting/ cultivating a rich interpersonal and family life (including with our Ancestors).

This Power is also fantastic for manifestation magic of all varieties! It is phenomenal for drawing literal STUFF, and support of all kinds into one’s own Sphere, on all levels. Less liquid cash, perhaps, but more fully formed goods. Some amount will be drawn naturally through the simple act of passive application, but especially so with specific intent and magical efforts!

Naturally, a Moon in Taurus series can be expected to activate house topics regarding where Taurus and Cancer fall in the native’s own chart, in addition to its general significations. These should generally be productive and helpful, especially after establishing good relations and getting into a groove with it.

This influence is also the perfect medicine for curing many of the ails of our current age, including tech addiction, mental and emotional disorders, excessive distraction, and a culture that disjoins us from who and what matters most.

The Moon here naturally magnetizes children and pets, in addition to material resources and a prioritization of comfort, rest, and a more sustainable pace. It reminds us to stay hydrated, promotes healthy adaptation, and supports self-regulation. It encourages both alone time and quality connection with loved ones.

It also improves relationships with the feminine Sphere, and with women in general, cultivating enriched, mutually supportive sisterhood and motherhood dynamics. It aids in cultivation of intuition, and establishing self-trust in one’s inner wisdom.

Austin’s Electional Write-Up:

The intention for this series is simple and powerful, not unlike the series itself. Combine the excellence of the Moon’s exaltation in Taurus with the deep support which Jupiter’s conjunction provides for the Moon. These conditions are, individually, quite capable of giving a happy result, and so their power properly combined should be nothing less than extraordinary.

This combination is possible only when Jupiter is in Taurus, one out of every 12 years. Within a Jupiter in Taurus year, there is approximately one day out of every month when the Moon is conjunct Jupiter, giving us about a dozen candidates.

Having gathered the charts of every day that a Moon-Jupiter conjunction occurred in Taurus over the year-long span, I interviewed each candidate, asking increasingly intrusive and difficult questions in order to narrow the field. The clear winner of the search is the chart pictured, which became the celestial seed of this series.

Before I discuss the chart’s excellences and imperfections, its worth sharing a few of the confirmatory omens that occurred on the day of the operation.

First, early on the day of the operation, Kait and I were deluged with the vast majority of our baby supplies and equipment, which, though ordered at different times all landed at our doorstep simultaneously. I also received, on that day, a long-delayed package fill with exotic and expensive supplies which I had feared lost.

Furthermore, at the geopolitical scale, the selected day, November 24th 2023, was the first day of ceasefire in Gaza. Guns were temporarily lowered, hostages and prisoners released, and critical supplies delivered.

Peace amidst strife, support, and restoration are very much key words for this series, so these themes’ presence in the headlines of the day was not only heartening, but very much confirmed the right timing of the work. Sadly, the planets continued onward, and the truce evaporated, but this short span of precious peace is nonetheless preserved in the talismanic work.

Chart Analysis

The focus of this celestial figure is the Moon’s conjunction with Jupiter in Taurus in the 10th house, right next to the MC. This occurred during the hour of the Moon, of course. Luna is waxing, well over ¾ Full, and applying to conjunction with bright Jupiter. The ruler of Taurus, Venus, is in her own sign in Libra and configured to the Ascendant. Finally and perhaps most simply, this is a night chart with the governing Moon sat bright in the middle of sky.

This combination of essential dignity, angularity, phase, and bonification puts the Moon in near-perfect condition. The only imperfections are that the Moon is not in her single degree of maximum exaltation, which is a stones throw earlier in Taurus, and that Venus, though at home in Libra, has to share the Scales with the Dragon’s Tail.

The selected Ascendant is in the second decan of Leo, a doubly Jupiterian decan of steady triumph, reward, and acclaim. This links the Ascendant back to the Moon-Jupiter configuration, and helps circumvent whatever difficulties the Sun has steering the AC as a result of its departing square with Saturn.

Finally, and most powerful, the Ascendant is in a rare position of protection, as it is between exact aspects to the two benefics— a square with Jupiter at 7 Taurus and a sextile with Venus at 18 Libra.

Big, bright, steady, protected, refined, generous, blessed and blessing, here the Moon is capable of granting big support to any work natural to the lunar sphere.
