Jupiter in Cancer Talismans

STUNNING Jupiter in Cancer Talismans by Tony Mack —

Modeled in hard carver’s wax, and cast in electrum [silver and gold], with calcined salt of frankincense, orange rind, and oak. An image of a “master key” with the head of a kingly Jupiter.

The form of Jupiter as king was drawn from Agrippa’s Three Books of Occult Philosophy, Book II Chapter 22: referencing “a man crowned”; and Picatrix Book II, Chapter 10 of a man “sitting on a throne” under planetary images of Jupiter.

The kingly imagery emphasizes Jupiter at his zenith in the 10th house of the elected chart of the sunrise casting, as well as the applying moon occupying the second decan of Aries “The Crown” (via Austin Coppock’s ’36 Faces’).

The form of a key was chosen to embody Jupiter as the opener of gates, granter of access, and bestower of legitimate authority and benefic opportunity. Keys signify sovereignty, the stewardship of wealth, and [particularly with Jupiter in Cancer] guardianship: the wise tending of resources so that they may grow and nourish all within one’s care; the capacity to command goodwill.

Rising in the 10th house, Jupiter becomes the celestial patron of honor, mastery, and eminence. The key becomes his instrument, signifying admission to high places, admitting the bearer to supportive alliances, warm recognition, and honorable advancement, while closing the doors to misfortune.

Ornate Versions feature an electrum [20/80] casting and an 18 kt gold crown. Inside the head of the kingly Jove was deposited yellow sapphire, amethyst, lapis lazuli, saffron, frankincense, and ginseng. The materia was then encased by a 5 carat Kyanite cabochon, prong-set by the spires of the crown. Standard versions feature an all-electrum [10/90] casting with a 4 carat amethyst cabochon.

Casting was accompanied by suffumigation of frankincense, saffron, and camphor.

Third Decan of Leo Talismans

Talismans a la Mack —

Modeled in hard carver’s wax, and cast in silver with iron firescale, gold, and calcinated salt of hawthorn and frankincense. An image of a banner in the shape of a shield, bearing the head of a lion with severe countenance.

In Austin Coppock’s 36 Faces, the banner represents one’s outward expression of will, assertion and recognition. The shield emphasizes defense and integrity; the protection of one’s declared light against opposition, envy, or distortion. The bearer proclaims their sovereignty, but also guards it. The union of banner and shield under the third face of Leo upholds honor defended, identity maintained, and creative will made steadfast and unyielding against challenge.

The lion’s jaws hold a 6mm almandine garnet. On the reverse side of the shield-banner is a large setting for one of three martial stone cabochons. Oxidized-finish talismans feature Red Jasper or Dragon Bloodstone; High polish versions feature Pyrite (Picatrix Book II, Ch. 10–11, Book IV lapidary sections; Agrippa Book II, Chapter 9, “What things are under the power of Mars”).

Casting was accompanied by suffumigation with a martial/solar incense of frankincense, saffron, cayenne, hawthorn, bay leaves and tobacco.

Venus’ Earthly Delights Talismans

Modeled in hard carver’s wax, and cast in Silver and Copper with calcined salts of pearl, rose, and damiana. A planetary image of Venus in the form of a beautiful woman holding a hand mirror in the shape of the glyph of Venus, accompanied by a seated hart or stag. On the reverse is the planetary seals of Venus, intelligence of Venus, and Daemon of Venus from book II, chapter 22 of H.C. Agrippa’s Three Books of Occult Philosophy. Engraved with them are the planetary glyphs of Venus from both the Ghayat al-Hakim, and the Latin Picatrix.

Ornate versions feature the image of Venus cast in copper, and set into a silver scrollwork frame. Above the image is a bezel-set 10mm freshwater pearl, a ‘stone’ under the rulership of Venus [Agrippa Book I Chapter 24, Picatrix Book II Chapter 9]. Alternate versions include [slightly smaller] talismans cast in all silver set with a rose quartz cabochon, and all copper set with a malachite cabochon.

Modeled in hard carver’s wax, and Cast in 80/20 Electrum [silver and gold] with calcined salts of bay laurel, thistle, and frankincense. Casting was accompanied by suffumigation of saffron, thistle, cedar, and frankincense.

On one side, the image of the solar titan Helios, sculpted in high relief. His hair radiates outward like the sun’s rays, and he wears a diadem of bay laurel cast in gold. Set at the center of the crown is a pendeloque-cut ruby — a stone both under the rulership of the Sun and used in the creation of Behenian fixed star talismans of Aldebaran; reinforcing the Golden Titan’s solar qualities with the royal watcher’s characteristic potency, expansiveness, and boldness.

The reverse side features a blazing solar disc with the face of a lion at its center — an image of the Sun’s rulership in Leo, symbolizing focused will, magnanimity, and creative authority.

Standard talismans were cast in 90/10 electrum with calcined salts of bay laurel, thistle, and frankincense. They feature a laurel crown cast in place, set with a 1.2 carat peridot cabochon.

Modeled in hard carver’s wax, and cast in 90/10 Electrum [silver and gold] with calcined salts of cedar and frankincense. Casting was accompanied by suffumigation of saffron, cedar, bay laurel, and frankincense.

On one side, the image of a rayed solar disc. The center of the sun is set with a quartz crystal cabochon lens representing the New Moon in Leo. Behind the lens, a gold disc enhances the brilliance, making the cabochon appear as if it radiates soft golden light, symbolizing the union of the Sun and Moon during the conjunction, and the qualities of clarity, renewal, and illumination.

The reverse side features an intricate design of Apollo’s lyre, accented with serpent motifs. This image recalls the “Son of Apollo” Asclepius Series, a previous talisman collection focused on rejuvenation and healing. Apollo, associated with both the lyre and divine healing, connects the image to the Sun’s purifying and clarifying aspect. The serpents, symbolic of transformation, renewal, and wisdom, further align with the nature of this series. Through the cut-out design of the lyre, the golden disc seen from the opposite side of the talisman is visible, linking both sides in a harmonious reflection of the Sun’s light. The image and materials were chosen not to evoke the heat of the Sun but rather its brilliance, purifying, and life-giving qualities.

Talismanic Nursing Cups

Inspired by the Silverettes acquired in anticipation of my own postpartum experience, in the lead-up to Exalted Luna’s working, I asked Tony if he would be willing to create Talismanic Nursing Cups during the operation.

Ever the gentleman (and scholar!), he enthusiastically obliged —

Moon in Taurus Nursing Cups

Modeled in hard carver’s wax, and cast in fine .999 silver. Around the outer edge in high relief are the ‘characters of the moon’ from book I, chapter 33 of H. Cornelius Agrippa’s ‘Three Books of Occult Philosophy’.

Silver nursing cups are a breastfeeding aid designed to alleviate soreness and promote healing during breastfeeding. Cast from pure .999 fine silver, these reusable and durable dome-shaped cups act as a protective barrier over cracked or sore nipples. The natural antimicrobial properties of silver contribute to preventing infections and creating a comfortable environment for healing. Worn inside a bra, silver nursing cups provide comfort and shield from further irritation caused by contact with clothing. They allow air circulation while offering a non-toxic aid for breastfeeding mothers seeking relief. These cups were cast thicker than other nursing cups so as to provide more efficient transference of heat to aid in cooling and reduce inflammation. *Silver nursing cups are not a substitute for addressing latch problems or other breastfeeding issues. They serve as a supportive tool in the healing process, providing mothers with a reusable and effective aid for managing soreness during their breastfeeding stage.

Fine silver nursing cups arrive in a keepsake pine and burlap jewelry box bearing a wax seal of the moon.

These cups can be worn as Talismans outside of nursing purposes, and even used as tiny offering cups atop Lunar altars. Since each is its own Talisman, the Client technically receives two instead of one.

Mars-Jupiter in Aries Talismans (Standard)

Modeled in hard carver’s wax, and Cast in 90/10 Electrum [silver and gold] with iron firescale and calcined salts of hawthorn, and frankincense. Casting was accompanied by suffumigation of cayenne and frankincense.

The image of Mars with resolute visage, modeled after depictions of Alexander the Great with the ram’s horns of Jupiter-Ammon. During his military campaign through Egypt, Alexander encountered the Oracle of Amun at the Siwa Oasis. The oracle, functioning as the conduit for the deity, hailed Alexander as the son of Jupiter-Amun, affirming his divine status and legitimizing his rule over Egypt. In gratitude and to solidify his divine connection, Alexander adopted the symbol of the ram’s horns, an attribute of Jupiter-Ammon, into his iconography. Images of Jupiter-Ammon were later erected in the Temple of Mars Ultor [Mars the Avenger] in Rome. The image of Mars, with features reminiscent of Alexander’s divine imagery underscore martial prowess exalted by jupiterian divine mandate.

The other side takes the image of an Elephant, associated with mars in book II, chapter X of Pixatrix on the image of Mars. Engraved beneath its great head are the astral sigils of Mars from arabic manuscript of the Ghayat al-Hakim. Each side of the talisman is set with a 2.5 carat amethyst cabochon, a gem associated with mars in book I, chapter XXVII “What things are under the power of Mars.” and commonly associated with jupiter in contemporary lists of planetary gemstones.

Mars-Jupiter in Aries Talismans (Ornate)

Modeled in hard carver’s wax, and Cast in 80/20 Electrum [silver and gold] with iron firescale and calcined salts of hawthorn, and frankincense. Casting was accompanied by suffumigation of cayenne and frankincense.

The image of Mars, with features reminiscent of Alexander’s divine imagery as the son of Jupiter-Ammon. Upon his head sits a diadem of laurel [cast in 18k gold with calcined bay and native mountain laurel], listed under the rulership of Mars in Picatrix book III, chapter I “On the Roles of the Planets in Plants, Animals, and Metals.” Set into the diadem is an .7 carat ruby.

Standard Sickle Talisman

Modeled in hard carver’s wax, and Cast in Electrum; an 80/20 alloy of silver and gold [with calcined salts of pine, cumin, and hemp]. Casting was accompanied by suffumigation of Myrrh.

The image of a sickle, the most predominant symbol and tool associated with Saturn. A hilt was added to the handle to give the overall form the impression of the traditional glyph of Saturn. The length of the blade is engraved with the characters of Saturn from book I chapter XXXIII of Agrippa’s ‘Three books of Occult Philosophy’.

Saturn in Aquarius Ornate Talisman

Modeled in hard carver’s wax, and Cast in Electrum; an 80/20 alloy of silver and gold [with calcined salts of pine, cumin, and hemp]. Casting was accompanied by suffumigation of Myrrh.

An image of a Saturn as a goddess with stern and serene countenance. She wears a dark hood and veil. A composite image of Saturn from Agrippa’s book II chapter 38 of Three Books of Occult Philosophy:

“A black or dark cloth covers his head, and all of his garments are black and dark”

Upon her head is a diadem set with a 3 carat blue Sapphire, flanked by two 1/2 carat white sapphires; and fitted with a set of hart’s antlers. Beneath the center sapphire was placed gold marcasite, myrrh, and alchemical salts of pine which were extracted from needles calcinated during our Saturn election, and precipitated during subsequent hours of Saturn by friend and skillful spagyrist Tyler Schneider of Azoth Apothica. On the back of the talisman is the glyph of Saturn opposite the deposited materia.

Modeled in hard carver’s wax and cast in an 90/10 electrum alloy of silver and gold, with calcined salts of cedar and sage. Casting was accompanied by suffumigation of frankincense and S+ Asclepius incense.

An image of the asklepian serpent, or messenger serpent of Asclepius (who in myth placed a healing herb into the mouth of a dead snake, resurrecting it; giving Asclepius/Polyidus the knowledge to restore life to the prince Glaucus). Modeled in three dimensions, the underbelly of the pendant features the serpent’s ventral scales. The center of the pendant features a 5 carat carnelian cabochon set over calcined salts of Japanese Knotweed root.

The Asclepius IV talisman includes a 20-inch silver chain, and a keepsake box bearing the wax seal of the S+ Asclepius symbol.

Thema Mundi Talismans

These were fumigated with Thema Mundi Incense and contain Thema Mundi herbal mix within. They were created on the day of the Aries Ingress per Marsilio Ficino’s “How to Construct a Figure of the Universe” from The Three Books of Occult Philosophy, Book 3. This is the only Aries Ingress for another decade+ to feature co-presence with Jupiter.

Modeled in hard carver’s wax and cast in electrum, gold, calcined salts of Sphere + Sundry’s Thema Mundi materia, and a portion of casting sprues [metal from the channel that fills the castings, which talismans are later removed from] saved from S+ planetary series’ comprising the Opus series. Casting was accompanied by suffumigation of S+ Thema Mundi incense.

The front of the piece consists of a heptagonal blazing star, representing our seven planets or “wandering stars”. The star is encircled with a zodiacal wheel engraved with the glyphs of the signs, positioned with cancer rising as it is in the Thema Mundi aka chart of the world. This image is set over gold, behind which a portion of S+ Thema Mundi materia was deposited before setting each layer together.

The back of the piece is an engraved image of the Thema Mundi chart, showing the planets in their corresponding houses. In the “empty houses” [8th-12th], the constellations were engraved as they would be observed in the night sky houses at the time of the casting.

Mercury governs among the metals [besides quicksilver] those which are mixed and alloyed. Casting was accompanied by suffumigation of frankincense and S+ incense Exalted Mercury.

Mercury in Gemini Ornate Talismans — $2,000

The talismans take the Form of a stylized glyph of mercury. In the center of the pendant is a century old 2-franc coin, struck with the image of an enthroned Mercury holding a caduceus. The coin was lathe-polished, hammered into a dome shape and prong-set over a bed of frankincense, eleuthero root, S+ exalted mercury powder, and striped agate. The lower part of the pendant consists of two serpent motifs surrounding a crystal lens. Among the things under the rulership of mercury are glass and coins struck with image and number. On the back of the pendant is an engraving in relief a character of Mercury from book I chapter 33 of Agrippa’s Three Books [as shown in the Eric Purdue translation]. The bale of the pendant is set with a 1.2 carat emerald, the gemstone associated with mercury in the Jyotish tradition, as well as book II chapter 10 of the Latin Picatrix.

Modeled in hard carver’s wax and Cast in 80/20 electrum with iron firescale, and Gold. Casting was accompanied by suffumigation of Myrrh, Yew, and saffron.

An image of Antares as a woman’s face with ardent eyes, carved in high relief. She wears an ornate helm, the form of which is a composite of scorpion and dragon motif. Into the center of the helm was placed saffron, yew, and sard/sardonyx [carnelian and red agate], which was then enclosed with a 3.5 carat amethyst. Ingredients and gemstones were used per the instructions found in ‘De Quindecim Stellis’ translations Quadripertitus, Liber Enoch, and Liber Thebit.

Engraved around the outer edge are the characters of the moon from book I, chapter 33 of H. Cornelius Agrippa’s ‘Three Books of Occult Philosophy’. The horns became quite sharp after the pendants were cast and polished. Consideration was given whether to round off the tips in order to make the pieces more friendly to wear, but due to the apotropaic/protective nature of the fixed star the horns were left intact and not dulled. Care should be taken if you plan to be particularly active while wearing this talisman.

Modeled in hard carver’s wax and cast on April 12, 2020 at 12:39 am EST in Williamsport Pennsylvania, moon applying within three degrees of the fixed star Rasalhague, rising on the ascendant at 22 Sagittarius. Casting was accompanied by petition and suffumigation with S+ Asclepius II incense.

Cast in fine silver with calcined cypress, sage, and cedar. One side of the coin, carved in relief, is the messenger serpent of Asclepius (who in myth placed a healing herb into the mouth of a dead snake, resurrecting it; giving Asclepius/Polyidus the knowledge to restore life to the prince Glaucus.) On the reverse is the a lyre accented with serpent motifs, framing the fixed star alpha ophiuchi; an image recognizing Asclepius as son of Apollo, and the moon’s applying trine to the sun in its exaltation at the moment of the election.

The Sun rising on the ascendant, exalted in Aries during the planetary hour of the sun [with an exalted Moon, Mars, and Venus/Saturn in their domiciles]. Casting was accompanied by suffumigations and petition created specifically for this hybrid election.

The head of Ptah, demiurge of Memphis who spoke into creation the Gods and forms conceived within his mind (heart), fleshed out in high relief and cast in molten electrum; a 80/20 alloy of silver and gold. With royal beard, and crowned with two plumes surrounding a solar disk (cast in gold). This crown was incorporated into depictions of Ptah as he absorbed aspects Tatenen, embodying the chthonic fire that raises and shapes the earth. Modeled in hard carver’s wax, and cast in molten metal on August 9th, 2019 at 6:10AM EST in Williamsport PA, during the planetary hour of the Sun; accompanied by a solar petition and suffumigation of frankincense, cinnamon, sunflower, and celandine.

An 18k gold blazing sun, conjoined with an electrum (an 80/20 alloy of gold and silver) frame depicting our star ascending over the horizon. The heart of the sun is set with a 1.5ct ruby. The reverse side of the talisman is engraved with the planetary characters of the Sun as depicted in Arabic manuscripts of the Ghayat Al Hakim [Picatrix].

Mr. Mack’s preliminary findings —

The Sol in Leo talismans made space for a number of bird of prey synchronicities, beginning with a pair of hawks (the animal totem for the Sol in Leo series, featured upon The Golden Sovereign label) driving crows over my home in the morning hours following the casting (a scene which the talismans had a view of as they lay in a brass bowl under the sunlight post-casting).

My most immediate, embodied experience of the talismans was an awareness and correction of my breathing; which in turn reoriented my attention, put a bit more light behind my eyes and elevated my present experience – rather obvious; though I’d been unconsciously running on shallow breath, and I’d receive a nudge until this was remediated as I proceeded putting the finishing work/stone setting to the talismans.

In the days following the election I was contacted by a handful of clients, some familiar and some new acquaintances regarding not-explicitly-astrological metalwork; each of their projects connected either directly or indirectly to the Egyptian Horus. I’m thrilled with my experience with the Sol in Leo’s while they were at my bench, as well as with the opportunities that have presented themselves in their wake…

Each coin was cast with an image of Jupiter from Picatrix book II chapter X; “Under the influence of Jupiter make the image of a crowned man sitting on a throne carried by four winged men”. A spear was added to the right hand (borrowed from an alternative Jupiter image from picatrix bk II) to signify the protection and upholding of the fruits of his bounty. The reverse side bears an image of grape vines growing around the planetary sigil of Jupiter from the Arabic Ghayat Al Hakim.

Regulus talismans by goldsmith and planetary mage Tony Mack, cast during the equivalent election per his location. Of his glorious creations, he shares —

Modeled in hard carver’s wax on January 22nd, 2019 at 7:27pm EST in Williamsport PA; accompanied by a petition to the Heart of the Lion, and suffumigation of celandine, mugwort, and wormwood; the corresponding herbs for Regulus via “Liber Hermetis tractans de 15 Stellis”, and H.C. Agrippa.

A pure gold lion’s head likens to a blazing star, conjoined with electrum (an 80/20 alloy of gold and silver) wreath of laurel framing the symbol of Regulus. Equal parts of the aforementioned herbs were placed behind the eyes of the lion before being hammer-set in place. A high grade 1 carat garnet is prong-set into the heart of Regulus.

On the effects —

I began to notice ritual bleed as soon as the date had been set, starting with my being gifted two 80lb stone lions – which became a recurring theme. The hour leading up to the election carried with it tremendous momentum; culminating in an unusual/ moving silence. The words I had prepared gave way to a more fluid and emotive petition, and the entire operation became heart-centered in a way I hadn’t anticipated.

These talismans have a brilliant and warm presence. Like a lantern hung in the heart’s cathedral, from which you can orient or install yourself and shine forth from. There is a very particular courage that wells up, and a benefic desire for the heart to be shown. An expression which won’t diminish or augment itself for fear of the vulnerability that visibility necessarily entails.

The effects have been received very well; and acting upon those desires has been rewarding, including being gifted 1.5 ounces of gold as a direct consequence of the working. I’m still attuning with the talisman, but it’s already more than I hoped it would be, and in a pleasantly unexpected way.

Tony Mack returns for another collaboration, this time for the Moon-Neptune in Pisces series, the election adjusted per his location.

Lost-wax cast in fine silver. Modeled in carver’s wax after an ancient Greek coin depicting the god Triton, son of Poseidon and messenger of the sea, circa 370BC. Slight modifications were made so we could offer mer-talismans in lad and lady varieties.

On the reverse side of the image, a circular setting was carved. Within is blue lotus, oyster mushroom, and other herbs sent by Sphere + Sundry, featured throughout the rest of the series for greater cross-sympathy. A mother of pearl cabochon setting was then applied.

They are like keys or portals to the realm of dreams. I still get the intense dream recollection while in waking state. For me it’s mainly of places I was in past dreams. I just kind of sink into these dimensions. It’s been going on consistently since the talismans were cast.

I would definitely encourage people to keep a journal or something to write with/on handy when they wear and experiment with these. I’ve recovered and anchored an immense amount of otherwise hidden/unconscious experience, and there’s something very healing about that.

Another thing I’ve noticed is that they are a damn good visualization aid; it’s really easy to conjure up images and sensations, and that’s very useful.

Coins can be put under the mattress or in a pillowcase and are available for $297, necklaces can be similarly stashed or worn around the neck to enhance psychic sensitivity, visionary work, etc. for $360.

All talismans from this series include a vial of Moon-Neptune oil for regular feeding and consecration, and come in a leatherette box decorated with a Full Pisces Moon ritual symbol. Pendants include a 20” silver chain. You may choose to include a silver and gold polishing cloth.
