Austin and I also had the friendliest, fairest, and most productive exchange with a police officer we've ever had that day, testifying to Deneb Algedi's ability to bring the favor of the law (but also, bring the law). Traditional associations for Deneb Algedi are marjoram, mugwort, and the aforementioned blue chalcedony. All were combined, along with the tail hair from a happy (and very much still alive!) goat-friend, as this fixed star represents the tail of the sea-goat in the constellation of Capricorn.     Inspired by a workshop given by Professor Charles Porterfield on conjure lamps in the hoodoo tradition at the Viridis Genii Symposium 2019, glass vessels were suffumigated and filled with consecrated Deneb Algedi herbal mix before being filled with odorless and clean burning paraffin lamp oil during the height of the election. Contents include the traditional correspondences for Deneb Algedi — marjoram, mugwort, and blue chalcedony, in addition to 24k gold, frankincense, and other fortifying herbs for protection, the safekeeping of borders, repelling the evil eye, wealth generation, and calling the favor of the powerful. As taught by the conjureman, the light (and shadow) from lamps (and candles, no doubt) can be guided with the use of mirrors to shine in certain directions, upon photographs or specific items for additional magical utility.     For Occvlta's first ever collaboration with Sphere + Sundry, Júlia offers a dark and rich loose incense ritually crafted during the equivalent election from the Pyrenees of Lleida, Spain —

    The Venus Exalted incense was made Sunday between 8:31 and 9:24 UTC+1 in honour of Venus. Its base is composed of Alexandrian Rose buds, Nettle leaf, True Vervain, and Myrtle, plants that inflame and inspire desire and allure.

    To this base other components were added: storax bark, frankincense, juniper berries, damiana leaf, costmary, elder flowers, Icelandic moss, angelica root, yarrow flowers, orris root, passion flowers, and mugwort. These are spirits related to planet Venus and help balancing the power and directing the practitioner's will.

    Finally, this exalted mix is crowned with mallow, violet, lotus, and periwinkle flowers, elevating its potency and making it a fit offering for a deity.

These, along with rose of jericho, wildcrafted and ethically sourced white sage, and carnelian, were combined in a copper still and immersed in water freshly collected from the headwaters of the Sacramento River in Mt. Shasta. A hydrosol was produced on the Sun’s day, which was later combined with essential oils of frankincense and rosemary, colloidal gold, and grain alcohol during the Jupiter-Luna-Ras Alhague election, where the water was dedicated to Asclepius and received his blessing.
