    Mammoth Subset

    The backbone of Saturn in Aquarius' working altar was a large chonk of woolly mammoth tusk, preserved for thousands of years and unearthed recently in Alaska. Shards were fumigated with myrrh during the operation, and ground into this subset, as well as charred and pulverized for the Ink + Skin Stain. Mammoths are the furry relatives of the elephants we all know and love. There are all kinds of fun mammoth facts tying them to Saturn in Aquarius' arcana, such as them being 1. long-extinct, and 2. commonly preserved in permafrost and discovered by modern man in almost their entirety, even to this day. People have eaten them relatively recently! But what concerns us here are the magical merits of the mammoth — those of endurance, resourcefulness, fortitude, memory, strength, and collective wisdom. They were also ferocious warriors, equipped with incredibly powerful tusks to protect themselves and those they loved. This is the subset of choice for those seeking the most embodied, "heaviest hitting" take on Saturn in Aquarius' charge. It is more action-oriented and active than Tortoise, and far more grounded than the base series.     Standard Sickle Talisman

    Modeled in hard carver’s wax, and Cast in Electrum; an 80/20 alloy of silver and gold [with calcined salts of pine, cumin, and hemp]. Casting was accompanied by suffumigation of Myrrh.

    The image of a sickle, the most predominant symbol and tool associated with Saturn. A hilt was added to the handle to give the overall form the impression of the traditional glyph of Saturn. The length of the blade is engraved with the characters of Saturn from book I chapter XXXIII of Agrippa's 'Three books of Occult Philosophy'.

    Saturn in Aquarius Ornate Talisman

    Modeled in hard carver’s wax, and Cast in Electrum; an 80/20 alloy of silver and gold [with calcined salts of pine, cumin, and hemp]. Casting was accompanied by suffumigation of Myrrh.

    An image of a Saturn as a goddess with stern and serene countenance. She wears a dark hood and veil. A composite image of Saturn from Agrippa's book II chapter 38 of Three Books of Occult Philosophy:

    Upon her head is a diadem set with a 3 carat blue Sapphire, flanked by two 1/2 carat white sapphires; and fitted with a set of hart's antlers. Beneath the center sapphire was placed gold marcasite, myrrh, and alchemical salts of pine which were extracted from needles calcinated during our Saturn election, and precipitated during subsequent hours of Saturn by friend and skillful spagyrist Tyler Schneider of Azoth Apothica. On the back of the talisman is the glyph of Saturn opposite the deposited materia.

    Each talisman arrives with a 20" silver chain, and a keepsake jewelry box bearing a wax seal of the glyph of Saturn.

    Water and snow harvested from Mt. Shasta, combined with Saturn in Aquarius hydrosol, grain alcohol and essential oils of stoic manuka, frosty elemi, and breezy ravintsara, colloidal gold, and black sardonyx. Use to clear and establish or reinforce boundaries of an energetic, mental, and magical nature. Turkish colognes are often sprinkled upon the hands before entering one’s household or business establishment, providing some natural sanitation and also a delightful scent. This can be used in such a way, or as a specialized type of Florida Water for energetic cleansing — anytime or before ritual. Makes it difficult for nasties to glom on or penetrate the auric body.     Saturnian King Subset

    The Saturnian King subset gets its name from a line in the Orphic Hymn to Jove, as this election seemed like a rare opportunity to capture that particular facet of Jupiter's arcana.     The horns became quite sharp after the pendants were cast and polished. Consideration was given whether to round off the tips in order to make the pieces more friendly to wear, but due to the apotropaic/protective nature of the fixed star the horns were left intact and not dulled. Care should be taken if you plan to be particularly active while wearing this talisman.

    Each talisman arrives in a keepsake jewelry box bearing a wax seal of the sigil of Daneb Agedi from Liber Hermetis, and includes a 20" silver chain.

Austin and I also had the friendliest, fairest, and most productive exchange with a police officer we've ever had that day, testifying to Deneb Algedi's ability to bring the favor of the law (but also, bring the law). Traditional associations for Deneb Algedi are marjoram, mugwort, and the aforementioned blue chalcedony. All were combined, along with the tail hair from a happy (and very much still alive!) goat-friend, as this fixed star represents the tail of the sea-goat in the constellation of Capricorn. Other herbs for protection, fortification, and wealth generation were also present, and distilled via copper alembic the night of the Full Moon conjunct the asterism, 2019.     Deneb Algedi Oil Lamps

    Inspired by a workshop given by Professor Charles Porterfield on conjure lamps in the hoodoo tradition at the Viridis Genii Symposium 2019, glass vessels were suffumigated and filled with consecrated Deneb Algedi herbal mix before being filled with odorless and clean burning paraffin lamp oil during the height of the election. Contents include the traditional correspondences for Deneb Algedi — marjoram, mugwort, and blue chalcedony, in addition to 24k gold, frankincense, and other fortifying herbs for protection, the safekeeping of borders, repelling the evil eye, wealth generation, and calling the favor of the powerful. As taught by the conjureman, the light (and shadow) from lamps (and candles, no doubt) can be guided with the use of mirrors to shine in certain directions, upon photographs or specific items for additional magical utility. It was this point in particular that inspired the idea that such light could also be used to feed, magnify, and activate astrological talismans, and experiments since have successfully confirmed that suspicion! A benefit oil lamps in particular possess over candles is that they can be eternally refilled, vastly increasing the span of their application and usefulness.
