What makes Sphere + Sundry Candles especially special, is the fact that they are all poured within the narrow working windows of Talismanic and remedial-grade elections, often ranging from as few as 12-minutes to as long as 45.

Exalted Mars II was created by Austin at home in the Mars Barn, but Candles were poured by Sphere Team 6 at HQ. To make that happen, I waited for our guest Mage to finish his initial conjuration / consecration, and then drove the Materia to Sphere + Sundry posthaste. The Fairer Benefic was conjunct the Royal Star Fomalhaut in Sphere + Sundry’s Exalted Venus II election, but no formal petition was made to capture its influence. However, an infusion of blue lotus in jojoba was created following the standard fumigations and prayers, to become a subset of its own.

An unreleased Oil was *also* created for Fomalhaut, which had been code named “the golden subset”.

I took them with me to the beach (see that write-up if you’re unfamiliar) and had intended to ritually finish them there, but clear instruction never came, so they were brought back and stored alongside the rest of their brethren.

Contemplating whether to add anything to the Lotus subset, the idea of co-mingling the two arose, confirmed by divination. The Saturnian King subset gets its name from a line in the Orphic Hymn to Jove, as this election seemed like a rare opportunity to capture that particular facet of Jupiter’s arcana.

Though I haven’t had the opportunity to work with it much yet to the exclusion of other items in this cycle, it seems to check all of the well-hashed Sky Grandpa boxes covered by the series writeup, just with added virility, excitement, and potentiality.

This is an ambitious, yang form of DA, whereas the base series is more passive, protective, and yin in character, Saturnian King emphasizes the Golden, Wealth and World-Building aspects of the Star.

All our herbal matter was fumigated with frankincense during an ultra rare Deneb Algedi election featuring the Greater Benefic conjunct the MC and a waxing gibbous Moon atop the Star, co-present with its dignified ruler, Saturn. Something only *possible* about every 60 years…

The bark of 4 Mighty Oaks was ritually harvested in the day and hour of Jupiter (as he rejoiced in the sign of the fishies!) for inclusion in this subset, alongside protective, wealth giving mistletoe, and sundry herbs and ingredients for extra money drawing potential. Classical DA correspondences of marjoram, catnip, mugwort, sage and blue chalcedony. Frankincense and 24k gold.
