    Capricorn II Lip Balm

    This entirely new Form was birthed by Sphere + Sundry's most recent Postpartum Release, as a spinoff of the Lip / Nip Sticks. Choose that one for general use (it's a more comfortable wear! which will surprise no one!), and this for Capricorn II things: productivity, focus, achievement, organization, and coordinated effort. Lip products are wonderfully functional as magical tools, as they specifically empower the speech. It is a very cool honor to pioneer them! This is especially well-suited to application before Solomonic works, or rituals involving the compel and command of Spirits. As well as prayers to the Goddess Hygeia, seeing this Decan is classically associated with Her. For practical real-world applications, use before team meetings or brainstorming sessions. Chapsticks bring an energy's focus to the head, so this is a perfect choice to support the mental and verbal aspects of Capricorn II's Great Works.     It has long been on my wishlist to offer some form of lip-based materia, to magically empower the speech, lips, and tongue specifically, for use in ritual and practical magic. Here our firstborn [of Form!] finally is. This herbal infusion of organic calendula, marshmallow root, and plantain in organic olive oil and jojoba, was consecrated alongside the Exalted Luna series during Austin Coppock's choice of the finest election Jupiter conjoining the Moon in Taurus had to offer. Now that the Greater Benefic has moved into Gemini, one like it cannot be seeded for 11 years [from initial release]. Originally formulated as a balm for nursing mothers to provide relief to sore, chapped nipples [Luna rules the breasts and babies, in addition to feeding, soothing, and nurturing...], it works just as well upon on the lips, expanding its wondrous potentials!     The backbone of Saturn in Aquarius' working altar was a large chonk of woolly mammoth tusk, preserved for thousands of years and unearthed recently in Alaska.     Modeled in hard carver’s wax, and Cast in Electrum; an 80/20 alloy of silver and gold [with calcined salts of pine, cumin, and hemp]. Casting was accompanied by suffumigation of Myrrh.

    The image of a sickle, the most predominant symbol and tool associated with Saturn. A hilt was added to the handle to give the overall form the impression of the traditional glyph of Saturn. The length of the blade is engraved with the characters of Saturn from book I chapter XXXIII of Agrippa's 'Three books of Occult Philosophy'.

Turkish colognes are often sprinkled upon the hands before entering one’s household or business establishment, providing some natural sanitation and also a delightful scent. This can be used in such a way, or as a type of Asclepius Florida Water for energetic cleansing, drawing goodness and illumination — anytime or before ritual. Makes it difficult for nasties to glom on or penetrate the auric body. Energy Clearing Protocol For energetic cleansing, sprinkle about a half teaspoon onto the palms of the hands and gently but thoroughly rub together for 10 or so seconds, coating both sides.     Let's get this out of the way from the outset: Glykon is hilarious. and often thought of as a lie! So when I approached Robert Fitzgerald about a ritual collaboration for this series, and he suggested one involving dream incubation a la Glykon, I was somewhat tentative. AND YET, we at Sphere + Sundry are not in the business of bossing around our collaborators! — each enjoys full creative control of their contributions. We also fancy ourselves open to experimentation, and value humor as much as efficacy, so... that's how we alll got here! What I find fascinating about this is 1. even if Glykon *began* as a hoax, that does not mean he stayed one. Chaos Magic has a lot to offer on that subject, and Glykon's Cult was very real, persisting for over 100 years. And second, the fixed star Ras Alhague — the one used to invoke Asclepius — kinda sorta belongs to a hoax itself, in the form of Ophiuchus, dread (alleged!) "13th Sign" of the perfectly complete with 12, thanks, Zodiac. Perform in good faith (ideally multiple times), and do report back!     Asclepius Candles

    Talismanic Candles are poured and begin to set during their requisite election window, as these were during Sphere + Sundry's 2023 Ras Alhague election, in dedication to Asclepius. Consecrated organic herbal blend was ground and sprinkled into each vessel before wax was poured; soy wax for the jars, and organic beeswax for the pillars. Jar candles are topped with carnelian, rose of jericho, frankincense resin, and ritually harvested cypress. They work beautifully burning at the bedside of those in need of healing, or shining their light on photographs to heal 3rd parties from a distance. Pillar candles are best suited to works of classical candle magic, wherein names, prayers, images, and sigils can be carved into the sides. From there, dressing with Anointing Oils / Perfumes and Powders (and Incenses) is welcome but optional, since all Sphere + Sundry candles come pre-enchanted by their method of ritual creation.

    Such a practice does, however, invite opportunities to combine influences toward very specific ends, such as dressing an Asclepius pillar with Venus materia to resolve issues of self-love and romantic insecurity, or Jupiter to heal 'scarcity mentality' and religious wounds. These can be quite thin if desired. The neater and more ridged your shape is, the better it will burn! Light the top of the ridge to ignite. Taking time to prepare Incense in this way can be a meditative and centering experience, and allows the practitioner to create custom burn times with zero waste. If your line ends up too long, simply use a knife to 'cut' the fresh powder away from the ignited portion to use later.

That too much candle dye was added to (womp womp womp), resulting in an unsafe burn for periods of longer than about 5 minutes at a time. Only the Slim Vigils work well enough to be released into the wild, but they must be treated with the utmost care. Although they are in glass, please put them on an extra fireproof surface and monitor very closely. These should only be used for short weekly devotions, but work extraordinarily well for that purpose. This is the first run of candles we’ve had this issue with, but when dealing with real magic, even the mistakes can be synchronous — these things seek to evaporate as quickly as possible, becoming as one with the Heavens. All Hail the Empyreal flame! Due to my error (deepest apologies), none of these are on offer. The clear paraffin oil has turned red since incubation due to chemical reactions between it and its contents. No dye was added. These were created on the Thursday Jupiter entered Sagittarius, while the Moon and the Greater Benefic were conjunct the descending angle. Lightly scented with pure essential oils of clove, cinnamon, allspice, orange, and frankincense. The effects are warming, invigorating, and exciting. They create a sense of opportunity and will help draw it to you, as well as help you break away from bad luck and stagnant patterns.     Natron

    The ancient Egyptians harvested naturally occurring natron from dry saline lake beds and used it for all manner of hygienic and household purposes, as it holds cleansing, purifying, and preserving qualities. It was also an essential ingredient in the mummification process. This natron was ritually cooked during the Hermanubis operation and left to dry throughout the night of the Mercury cazimi. The result is a salt blend which can be used to create ritual circles or barriers for containing necromantic operations, delineating boundaries for the dead, or used however else natron can be applied.     Black Walnut Ritual Ink

    Black walnuts were hand collected from a local tree after making offerings and asking permission from its spirit, who enthusiastically consented for its fallen fruit to be made the coloring agent for a magical ink. These were harvested on the Wednesday before Mercury’s cazimi on his day and hour, broken into pieces and simmered in spring water until a thick dark sludge resulted. This was strained and combined with grain alcohol, alongside other natural textural and preserving agents, informed by Daniel A. Schulke’s Viridarium Umbris. This ink is scented with genuine myrrh, in accord with recipes from the Greek Magical Papyri (PGM), which also suggests the addition of blood. The client-mage may choose to add a drop of their own for this purpose, as I know better than to use my own blood in public offerings ;) Black walnut has protective and masculine properties and is aligned, according to Culpepper’s Complete Herbal, with the Sun, making it a fine choice for a cazimi ink, given that Mercury rules over all inks, regardless of their dye base. The ink was consecrated along with the rest of the Mercury cazimi series, with colloidal gold and frankincense to further enhance its bright and solar qualities. Black hellebore harvested the night of, powdered (ethically, legally begotten) rattle snake rattler, and snake's skin in black wax. Each jar features an engraving of Algol's seal. It goes without saying that most Sphere + Sundry candles are made from virgin wax, but these candles had a storied and compatible history and were therefore upcycled for the operation. They were combined with additional wax, and still possess a scent from the original pillars, which includes tobacco, bergamot, and amber. Ten 2 oz candles were poured during this election, which provide around 15 hours of burn time. Each candle features a dose of Mars powder, made the same evening, comprised of five hand-ground herbs and resins sacred to Mars. These include hot red pepper, genuine dragon's blood resin, and yohimbe bark, among other proprietary sympathetic ingredients, and small bits of iron and rust. A keepsake in the form of a bloodstone arrowhead is revealed when the candle has fully burned, to be kept indefinitely by the owner as a talismanic generator of Martial potency. Each candle is in a large 12 oz jar that, depending on burning habits, can provide 45+ hours of burn time. They feature a glass cap with Mars' glyph, Agrippa's seal of character, and the kamea or magic square, all inscribed during the operation. As their burning will often be accompanied by that of incense, they are unscented. The first time you burn a large candle, try to let the pool of wax get as far out as possible because it will leave a 'memory' in the wax and create a tunneling effect for future burns, which will greatly reduce the life of a candle. Magical candles are sometimes lit for short periods of time during prayers or petitions, so sometimes this is unavoidable. If you have issues with tunneling, there are ways of fixing it.
