    Kolonía of Exalted Sol

    This Kolonía was created with water freshly harvested from the headwaters of Mt. Shasta on the day of the 2021 Aries ingress, ritually combined with colloidal gold, grain alcohol (to a final 75% alcohol content), and essential oils on a fine Solar election the following Sunday in the second hour of Sol, as Humanity's Own Star reigned supreme conjunct the Midheaven. Turkish colognes are often sprinkled upon the hands before entering one's household or business establishment, providing some natural sanitation and also a delightful scent. Kolonía of Exalted Sol can be used in such a way, or as you would any type of Florida Water for energetic cleansing, purification, and illumination. Makes it difficult for nasties to glom on or penetrate the auric body. Shake well to integrate all of the essential oils before use. Energy Clearing Protocol For energetic cleansing, sprinkle about a half teaspoon onto the palms of the hands and gently but thoroughly rub together for 10 or so seconds, coating both sides. The hands can float 2 inches from the body or be lightly touching it. Stand and run your palms from the crown of your head down the back of the head, then start from the top again, going down the front of your face and body, all the way down to the tops of your feet. If you feel any areas "sticking", continue stroking them until energies disperse, and then proceed with downward sweeping. Continue skimming from the head downward, running your cologned hands across every surface area, including under the arms, groin, and rear, concluding with the bottoms of the feet by lifting them. You can "flick" the energy off if it feels right, or it will dissipate naturally, however you prefer.     Resident Sphere + Sundry goldsmith and 5-star AstroMage Tony Mack offers to the Exalted Sol series a (very) limited run of custom designed talismans —

    Modeled in hard carver's wax and cast at dawn on March 29, 2020 at 7:00 am EST in Williamsport Pennsylvania, during the planetary day and hour of the sun; the moon making its next applying aspect to the sun rising on the ascendant in its exaltation of Aries. Casting was accompanied by petition and suffumigation of saffron, and frankincense.

    Cast in Electrum; an 80/20 alloy of silver and gold [with calcined salts of celandine, bay leaf, and amber.], the outer portion of the coin is engraved with the astral characters of the Sun from H. C. Agrippa's 3 Books of Occult Philosophy (Bk I, chapter XXXIII). On the reverse, a scarab motif is engraved at each quadrant. Cast in 18k red gold, the center of the coin bears a blazing solar motif; and on the reverse, an image of a hawk with outstretched wings framing our rising sun carved in relief.

    Each talisman arrives in a keepsake jewelry box bearing a seal cast in wax made from a mold of these talismanic coins.

    :The Ascension of Amoun-Ra: Raising the Pylons of the Sun

    The art created for this series was exacted at the correct hour and day following several days of fasting, prayers and solar devotions. The ankh, symbol of Going Forth and of immortal life, was added to the ram's head after seeing a glowing version of it in dream. As the sun is eternal, so shall be the soul of those exalted beneath its beneficence. Thus, the piece is called 'The Ascension of Amoun-Ra' and is designed to be used as an altar image and focus of meditation.

    The Ascension of Amoun-Ra: Raising the Pylons of the Sun is a votive ritual observance by which the solar sheaths of the physical, astral and etheric bodies are fortified and cleansed. For the ancient Egyptians no greater sun god existed than ram-headed Amoun-Ra. He was the literal and living embodiment of the sun. As such he established beside him for centuries a retinue of solar avatars who expressed specific attributes and powers needful for the full expansion of his cult. These were sometimes referred to as 'pylons': sentient manifestations of power which could confer upon devotees a wide array of abilities and talents. They were especially proficient at the rites of purity. 'Raising the Pyons' are designed to evoke into one's bodies and souls the characteristics of these solar hypostases, and thus exalt the Royal Uraeus Crown to the Ba-Heart of Amoun-Ra.

We had originally planned to create a full new series, but since we already had so much Exalted Sol on hand, last minute I pivoted to just making Kolonías + etching talismans for personal use instead (never get to do that anymore!). Elizabeth Barrial of Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab and Twilight Alchemy Lab chose to still work the election, so the fruits of those labors are riding alongside our Regulus III release as a Yuletide gift from BPAL to us all! There are 7(!) talismanic perfumes to choose from...

    This subseries of condition oils were crafted and blessed under the auspices of Exalted Sol in order to amplify and direct their power. They are fiery and vibrant interpretations of the concepts that they embody, vigorous, bold, and dynamic.

    Modeled in hard carver’s wax and cast on March 27, 2020 at 3:15 pm EST in Williamsport Pennsylvania; the moon applying to Venus in Taurus, both approaching the midheaven on the planetary day and hour of Venus. Casting was accompanied by petition and suffumigation with S+ Venus in Taurus incense.

    Cast in fine silver [with calcined salts of pearls, honey, and rose], and 18 karat rose gold. The front features the glyph of Venus set with a malachite cabochon; surrounded by a silver circle which fades from oxidized to high polish, framing an 18k rose gold background. On the reverse is a cropped bust of the empress from Pamela Coleman Smith’s illustration in the Rider-Waite Tarot. Over her shoulder is the glyph of Venus as shown in editions of the Latin Picatrix. A portion of her silhouette shows through to the rose gold behind.

    Classic Picatrixian style talismans. Malachite eggs, prayed over, fumigated, and subtly etched with Venusian symbols, imagery, and glyph during the height of the Empress Election. IMPORTANT: Absolutely do NOT use internally if you are pregnant, or wish to become pregnant. Only 1 Malachite Empress Egg is being offered to the public, $777 [spb_blank_spacer height="30px" width="1/1" el_position="first last"] [spb_toggle title="On the potential toxicity of malachite due to copper" open="false" width="1/1" el_position="first"] Some online sources claim malachite to be toxic because of its copper content, but that primarily impacts those involved with its mining and polishing (who should always be wearing protective gear on the job). Finished malachite poses almost zero risk to the user/ wearer, save for the case of prolonged exposure to acidic environments where trace amounts of copper can be leeched, which has resulted in fear mongering around even the consumption of Moscow Mules because of lime juice in the beverage. I have yet to know a single person who has been sickened or died of Moscow Mule poisoning, or been negatively impacted by the copper leaf that features in many Venus oils and materia. Copper is considered by science not to be meaningfully absorbed through the skin (if at all), and it is an essential trace metal found in lots of foods and things we regularly consume. Malachite is featured in some online lists of Yoni Eggs to avoid due to the same issue — the presence of copper combined with the naturally acidic environment of the vagina. Copper IUDs have been used as a common contraceptive since 1967, because copper naturally inhibits how sperm cells move so they cannot reach the egg and result in pregnancy. This makes even more sense of copper as the metal of Venus, given that our Fair lady desires sex for fun, rather than procreation (that would be Luna’s purview). It is up to each individual if they feel comfortable using the Malachite Yoni Egg Talismans internally or instead keeping them as altar pieces, and I encourage everyone to perform their own research, consult a physician, and do whatever they decide is safe with their own bodies, always. Given the short period of time such an egg is likely to be inserted (especially compared to up to 12 years of 24/7 wear with a copper IUD), these concerns seem overblown to me, personally.     Long have I searched for a genuine statue of Hermanubis, until fortuitously stumbling across Oliver Laric's extraordinary project Three D Scans, which features copyright free 3D models of museum statues. One of the pieces in his collection is an exact replica of the Hermanubis statue on display in the Vatican Museum created during the 1st-2nd century AD. Statues are currently only available in white, and stand just under 5" tall. Every set from the Hermanubis series includes the statue completely gratis. This set includes the items necessary for performing the Opening of the Mouth and Eyes ceremony, a ritual performed on the dead Pharaohs, mummies, and statues of ancient Egypt in order that they may speak, breathe, and see — to wake them. A modified form of this rite is included, along with the Oil, Natron, Elixir, and Incense required to perform it, to open the mouth and eyes of your Hermanubis statue. Being awakened and charged in this manner empowers the figure to act as a vessel for the God's power. The ingredients of the Rite can be adjusted and the same ritual performed in order to enliven other statues, such as Asclepius.     Modeled in hard carver’s wax and cast on April 12, 2020 at 12:39 am EST in Williamsport Pennsylvania, moon applying within three degrees of the fixed star Rasalhague, rising on the ascendant at 22 Sagittarius. Casting was accompanied by petition and suffumigation with S+ Asclepius II incense.

    Cast in fine silver with calcined cypress, sage, and cedar. One side of the coin, carved in relief, is the messenger serpent of Asclepius (who in myth placed a healing herb into the mouth of a dead snake, resurrecting it; giving Asclepius/Polyidus the knowledge to restore life to the prince Glaucus.) On the reverse is the a lyre accented with serpent motifs, framing the fixed star alpha ophiuchi; an image recognizing Asclepius as son of Apollo, and the moon’s applying trine to the sun in its exaltation at the moment of the election.

    Each coin includes a keepsake box bearing the wax seal of the Asclepius rod.

    Forged Rods of Asclepius III

    Re-ups of the Snake-bound rods debuted for Asclepius II, forged during the equivalent Asclepius III election per his location by sorcerous blacksmith Cody Dickerson of Borealis Ironworks. Every talismanic rod includes a vial of Asclepius III for regular anointing. Mount above doors or beds to safeguard good health and act as a protective ward, or store upon altars or under mattresses for the same purpose. Can also be successfully employed as an energetic scraping tool by skimming it across the body in ways similar to the cleansing method suggested on the Son of Apollo Kolonía page, cutting cords and reclaiming your own energetic boundaries.     These relics are a visceral, ferrous expression of two primary principles observed within an occult framework : Salubrity and Resolve.

    The Asklepian or ‘Rod of Asclepius’ consists of the serpent and staff. The serpent here may be said to represent both perpetual renewal & healing as well as the dual nature of pharmakon as both panacea and poison. The staff reminds us that in times of great need we must be willing to be supported. Their respective forms are expressed in hand-wrought iron, born of the hammer & anvil in flickering cacophony that is the ancient and venerable craft of the smith.

    Some preparation of material took place the evening prior (cutting, layout, etc.) and final preparations were made during pre-dawn hours the morning of the election. Offerings of cedar, juniper, fir pitch and several native artemisia species were burned in the forge and a fumigatory rite of cleansing took place.

    Enough material was cut and prepared for the 13+ relics to be forged, the serpent and staff to be officially intertwined during the beneficent interstice of this potent election. The election allowed a small but adequate window in which the work was to take place.

    It was an intense fifty minutes. I can’t recall the last time I worked with as much vehemence, but I did manage to meet our goal. And not without some violence against my own corpus for as the work concluded, I fell into an intense bout of very unpleasant nausea and vomiting, swiftly (and mercifully!) followed by a deep sense of wellness. This speaks precisely to the often purgative, sicken-ing nature of pharmakon and again -- to the dual-nature of the serpent as an embodiment of wisdom and rejuvenation.

    As for the iron Asklepians and their care, I recommend only this: while the relics have been treated with a thin coating of wax, I recommend that upon receipt they are further coated in the accompanying oil formulated by Sphere + Sundry during the election, or one of your choosing, preferably that lends itself to the restorative and health-giving nature of Asclepius and the noble art of physik.

    I pray these talismanic objects of virtue serve in whatever capacity you desire, be they employed as ceremonial foci or by iron’s physical touch as a means of removing illness and dis-ease, thereby exploiting iron’s capability in the eradication of foul spirit presences afflicting both body and soul.

    Modeled in hard carver’s wax and cast on March 27th, 2020 at 6:57 am EST in Williamsport Pennsylvania. The Sun rising on the ascendant, exalted in Aries during the planetary hour of the sun [with an exalted Moon, Mars, and Venus/Saturn in their domiciles]. Casting was accompanied by suffumigations and petition created specifically for this hybrid election.

    The head of Ptah, demiurge of Memphis who spoke into creation the Gods and forms conceived within his mind (heart), fleshed out in high relief and cast in molten electrum; a 80/20 alloy of silver and gold. With royal beard, and crowned with two plumes surrounding a solar disk (cast in gold). This crown was incorporated into depictions of Ptah as he absorbed aspects Tatenen, embodying the chthonic fire that raises and shapes the earth. Set into the forehead is a .6 carat octagonal-cut ruby mounted into a raised prong setting.

    Only 10 were cast, 7 of which are offered to the public. Includes a vial of Luminous Crown Oil for charging, feeding, and attuning to your talisman.     Forgemaster’s Iron Palm Dit Da Jow

    This is the result of a standalone project one and a half years in the making, formulated by long-time Martial arts practitioner and student of TCM Ashley Ayres, in collaboration with fellow martial artist, electional astrologer, and ritualist Austin Coppock. It was created during a supremely fine Mars in Capricorn election, the red planet rising in its hour, fortified by Jupiter in Scorpio on the midheaven, and anchored by a stalwart, exalted Taurus Moon. As always, the chart can be found in the image gallery. The Forgemaster's Iron Palm liniment is a specialized form of jow, intended to warm, strengthen, and fortify, in addition to providing the expedited healing properties of other more generalized dit da jows. It can be used in the formal context of iron palm (or shin, or foot, etc.) training, but it also provides energetic and magical properties encapsulated by the Mars election itself. It serves as a form of exterior armor and attunes one's vessel to the Martial sphere in a way that is both productive and invigorating.     The furnace blazes, the iron glows. Blood burns in the hammer-arm of the blacksmith. Stubborn metal becomes malleable, open to convincing arguments from the hammer and the strong hand that wields it.

    Fire, iron, and blood. This is the holy trinity of Mars, as crucial for creation as it is for destruction. While many know Mars as the Warrior, the red planet is equally the Smith. In the Smith we see the constructive side of Mars, the blood, sweat, and tears necessary to shape and re-shape our lives, our bodies, ourselves.

    The Smith’s alchemical action is an especially apt metaphor for the transformation of the body. The layers of effort required to re-forge the body are quintessentialy martial, and there is no exercise regimen as close to the forge as Iron Palm.

    Iron Palm refers to a family of limb-training methods which strengthen the skin, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and bones for both defensive and offensive purposes. Many styles also emphasize the internal side, cultivating increased qi emission capacity for both striking and healing purposes.

    Though there are many variations, the training almost always consists of a daily routine of hitting progressively more resilient materials. A canvas bag of bean, then stones, then metal. Though the results are dramatic, the training process is incremental, with as much attention paid to healing and perfect recovery as to anything else.

    Over the years, a great number of liniments have been created for this purpose. Generally referred to as dit da jow, they are widely available and widely used for general athletic purposes well outside of the specific practice of an Iron Palm regimen.

    The Forgemaster’s Dit Da Jow is one of these Iron Palm formulae, but with a Sphere + Sundry twist. This Jow was created in a fully ritual manner and at a precisely elected astrological time.

    Prayers to Mars the Forgemaster were intoned to bless and empower this tincture at the outset of the operation. The operators were consecrated to the red work, and the medicine vessels adorned with magic square, seal, and sigil.

    The elected time seemed a spectacularly appropriate and rare moment for this work. It was the Day and Hour of Mars, with the red planet exalted in Capricorn and on the Ascendant. This powerful, earthy Mars was further supported by a trine from an exalted Moon in Taurus, and meanwhile, Jupiter in Mars-ruled Scorpio crowned the zenith (MC). Not only was Mars strong, but Mars, the Rising, Moon, and Sun were all in Earth signs in order to ensure that the planet’s iron blessings were sufficiently rooted in the very bodily goal of this creation.

    After the evocations were said, the herbal and animal ingredients were sealed in their alchemical bath for 18 months.

    The result, the Forgemaster’s Dit Da Jow, is not only rich with the spirit and energy of this powerful Mars election, it also possesses the excellent properties bestowed by the materia of the formulation itself.

    The basis for this recipe is the Iron Palm formula of Yu Cheung (1894- 1952), one of the famed Five Tigers of Canton. His iron palm feats were famously documented in the early 1900's by photographers, and though his stone-shattering exploits are too numerous to cover here, there are entire books dedicated to his training methods. Crucially, he was known not just his power of his hands, but also their sensitivity.

    This formula was designed by him to cultivate both strength and softness. Protection for the hand, energy gates, and organ systems while also maximizing sensitivity and the capacity to express qi for both healing and striking purposes. Yu Cheung’s formula is the basis for this liniment, though it has been modified in small ways for reasons of both ethics and efficacy.

    This liniment is designed to unblock the qi flow, activate blood movement, relax tendons and ligaments and increase bone strength.  The two types of qi this formula stimulates are wei qi or “defensive/guardian energy” and regular organ qi.  This formula activates both in harmony, and is one of the many reasons it is superior to a store-bought dit da jow.

    Forgemaster’s Dit Da Jow is formulated to facilitate the healing of bruises , tendons, sinews, and bones, and to reduce pain, strengthen blood vessels, reduce swelling, and mitigate blood stagnation. It also protects the meridians and mobilizes both protective and organ qi for health and vitality.

    The Forgemaster’s Dit Da Jow is, of course, perfect for an Iron Limb regimen, but has a number of other uses. Both physically and energetically, it is an ideal pre- and post- workout liniment for any martial striking practice, such as boxing and kickboxing.     Scorpion had been intentionally omitted as an ingredient in the original Mars in Scorpio formula to reduce potential for malefic fallout, be less toxic, and more user-friendly — good for regular application by a wider variety of people for practical and remedial purpose. Throughout its lunar cycle of gestation, dream and omen pointed to the fact that Scorpion should in fact feature, so a round of divinations were performed to see which form that should take. I had anticipated it would be the powder or incense since those are things that appeal most exclusively to fellow mages in their own spellwork, but the tarot revealed otherwise.
